No, it's not. Think about it like this: followers are support level one, and friends are support level two.

Sure, it would be nice to have a list of friends, and it might help prevent follow for follow. It could overcomplicate things though

Good point. The ST and Scratchers would have to differentiate “friends” from “followers”.
