How to MAKE MONEY off of Scratch

To most people, Scratch is just a website that lets you code games and share them with the world. And they aren't wrong, that's what Scratch is, but to some people, it's a way to make a little extra cash. This is how.
Online game websites such as Crazygames, Poki, etc. allow game developers to upload their games and make money off ad revenue, but of course, there is a catch right away, how do you upload your scratch game? It's actually quite simple, using this website: https://sheeptester.github.io/htmlifier/ you can convert your scratch games into HTML files, which the websites listed above accept. A fairly popular game site to upload games to is: https://developer.crazygames.com/ .

It's very simple to does and they pay well compared to other sit. To add your game you just upload the HTML file of your game and add some art (icon, banner, etc.)(It is a very similar process across all websites). Crazy Games (like most other game sites) expects a level of quality out of your game, it needs to pass a number of tests: Is it bug-free? Is fun to play? Is it a game that is likely to interest many people? If your game does not pass these inspections, it will, unfortunately, be denied. It's a terrible feeling to have worked on a game for a long time, only to have it be denied, but don't let it bother you, just fix bugs, improve the gameplay, or just make a whole new game because you'll get it eventually.
That being said, don't expect to be able to retire young just because you put a Scratch game of all things on a free game website. It's extremely hard to make any substantial amount of money off Scratch and if you're lucky you will get enough money to buy some pretzels from a gas station, but don't be discouraged by this. There have been in rare cases successful games made on Scratch such as Paper Minecraft and Flappy Bird, each received a massive amount of views on external websites, so don't lose all hope, I'm just saying don't get your hopes up.
Profiting off Scratch projects is allowed on Scratch under Scratch's Terms of Use, Rules of Usage: 3.6

While it is possible to download another person's game and upload it as your own, they can claim it as theirs and you could get in trouble, either way, it's dishonest and goes against the spirit of Scratch.

How to MAKE MONEY off of Scratch
Out of all the video games ever made, the only successful one that could have been made in Scratch* is flappy bird. If you think you're going to be lucky enough to stumble upon the next flappy bird, think again. Literally walking the streets in search of dropped coins will probably get you more money than trying to sell games made in Scratch.
*By “Could have been made”, I mean in the practical sense of the term. Here's an exercise: try implementing a binary search tree in Java, then in C, then in Scratch. In Java, it is a trivial task. In C, it is slightly harder because you need to think about memory management but is still a relatively easy task. In Scratch, it is an extremely convoluted task which requires you to, among other things, write your own memory allocator before you even begin.

I never said that you would get rich, I just said it was possible to make money off Scratch and wrote how. I'll update the post to include that though.

I think you're underestimating the power of the masses – any game with pretty colors and fast-paced gameplay on the app stores suddenly gets millions of downloads. Out of all the video games ever made, the only successful one that could have been made in Scratch* is flappy bird. If you think you're going to be lucky enough to stumble upon the next flappy bird, think again.

Exactly, the way you present your game (cover art and advertising) is everything. If it looks fun and colorful it gets views.I think you're underestimating the power of the masses – any game with pretty colors and fast-paced gameplay on the app stores suddenly gets millions of downloads. Scratch does permit the commercial use of projects in their ToU. That means you can profit off your projects and not worry about possibly being banned or being forced to remove your project. I will update my main post to include this.

https://www.crazygames.com/game/the-scratch-cat-adventureYes, that is a good point. This seems like a larger game, I think that Crazy Games wants big, long games that people will stay a long time to play. I had a very simple game that in my opinion had better art and code than this game, but it got denied.
