There is absolutely no reason to add fictional places, and it would just make the site increasingly childish in my opinion. I mean come on, a lot of those countries in the list are probably ones that you've never heard of, which surely must be good enough…

Support, I think that this could make for some fun jokes, and people who want their actual location still can have it.

You actually could input whatever you wanted for your location in Scratch 1.x, at least according to one of my friends who was a 1.4 user, so a suggestion to allow users to type their own location isn't too outlandish. I think they changed that so they could get better location data, though, which seems like a hard thing to come up with a compromise for.

Basically, I doubt that ST will add any locations that aren't on Earth because they use the user locations for location statistics.

Maybe there could be 2 locastion. One is for statisics(your real one) and the other for other people to see.

It's custom so no need to add that, you can add whatever you want

Support! I live in my garage and that is not a location. I was so upset by this i was planning to quit scratch


Being honest though, support but only on April fools day.

I think the idea of it being for just April Fools would be better. So I can show my true Location of Scratch's Servers This would mean that less people would use it leading to less abuse.

I agree this would be fun, but I don't think it would really be neccessary considering Scratch is made to be an educational platform. It would also prevent the Scratch Team from gathering user data/statistics, like has been said above. The only reason this would exist is to hide your location (which many users do by selecting “Antartica” or real countries with funny names, like “South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands”, “Christmas Island”, “Virgin Islands”, “Reunion”, and more.)

I do support, however, the adding back of “Location Not Given.”

Back when I joined Scratch, that was my set location, and I was very young then, so when someone questioned it and asked where I lived, I changed it. I regret that now considering accounts cannot set that as their location anymore. There's no way to get it back, and to me those accounts who still have that as their location hold it like some rare trophy.

It would be helpful to those who want to keep their location private.

I'm pretty sure this would be against copyright law. I guess, it would only be if the place in mind is copyrighted but I do not know - I'm not a law expert
