mark similar projects as remixes

if a project is similar enough for it to not possibly be an accident to another project, mark the project that came out second as a remix of the first project

then less drama and complaints about art theft

so when someone reports a similar project for being an exact copy, a mod will make it a remix

I've seen very similar projects made from the instructions in books about Scratch. They looked practically identical - but they were not generated from each other.

In addition - I'm not sure how you would implement this. For every new project shared, you would have to compare it to all other shared projects. That would be pretty much impossible to do in a reasonable amount of time and with a reasonable amount of computing power.

no because you can only save copies of your own project

I'm not sure how a bot could identify that a project is almost identical to another- there are infinite differences that you could do.

no support, sometimes there are tutorials on how to make a platformer scripts, and imagine if you followed that tutorial, with this system implemented, won't some scratchers be frustrated if they worked hard on the script following that tutorial, only for it to be marked as a remix?

well since you have to credit the tutorial maker, then the mods would just see it was made from a tutorial and not make it a remix

How would this work? This seems very difficult to actually add, and besides many projects are similar but not copies.
