Add Unicode Support to Comments

Add Unicode Support to Comments - Scratch should re-add Unicode Support to comments. I am aware that they were removed for reasons that they could be used to spell out inappropriate words. I think that you could decide to enable support for some characters, add a blacklist for fonts or the bad words, amongst a couple of other things. This would enable Scratch users to be able to use more emojis, and allow us to use different fonts and such.

I don't really see the point of enabling Scratchers to use emojis in their comments. Script comments are meant for describing and explaining the code, not for typing facial expressions. No support.

I believe this is discussing comments on projects, profiles, and studios; not project comments.

Oh. Whoops, my mistake - if so, then I'm on the fence about the subject. On the one hand, you can easily simulate them with text (e.g. :) and :P), yet on the other hand, this could be pretty cool.

Support. They just need to filter it more.

That dupe is closed. ALSO PLEASE read the last post in that topic:

Well, it's implemented now since the release of Scratch 3.0, yes.

Edit: To be clear, this is regarding Unicode characters in the project editor, which is what I believe this topic was about. They are generally supported, and if there are edge-cases, I'm not aware of any. If Unicode support in the project editor is still incomplete, feel free to make a new suggestion clarifying that. (There are other suggestions regarding comment support.)
