Any way to delete comments?

What if, hypothetically, somebody (that I know in person) posts personal information about me that I don't want online in a comment. How would I delete this information without reporting them? I don't know how that system works, so I don't know if there's some kind of punishment for getting reported.

I've had this almost happen once, so I'm worried about what would I would do if it happened again in the future.

Click that report button ASAP.

There is no way to delete comments because people could write “you are dum” on someone profile and then delete it instantly so only the profile owner can see it.

But I'm worried that the person I reported would get in trouble. Say it's a friend, and they didn't know any better.

They won't get into trouble. They will be warned. If they ignore this warning, then they will get in trouble.

If you report the actual user instead of the comment, you can give a reason why you are reporting them. You could explain the situation better this way.
