Please don't! That thing is full of viruses. Copying sounds from YouTube is against their rules, just get your sounds from a non copyright sound library

Those are actually illegal to use by youtube's terms of use, plus most have them have NSFW advertisements. I'd just use a screen recorder and record you playing the sound.

That would technically be the same as using an MP3 converter in YouTube's eyes (I'm pretty sure they don't allow that).

Incorrect. It's technically not illegal to convert a youtube vid to an mp3, which is what that ytmp3.com's purpose is anyway.
Plus I haven't got any viruses.
What really is illegal is DOWNLOADING a copyrighted youtube music video. But you converted it to mp3, so there's no problem.

True. But I've used that website before and I haven't been getting any computer issues so far.

No. YouTube's terms of use say:
The following restrictions apply to your use of the Service. You are not allowed to:

access, reproduce, download, distribute, transmit, broadcast, display, sell, license, alter, modify or otherwise use any part of the Service or any Content except: (a) as specifically permitted by the Service; (b) with prior written permission from YouTube and, if applicable, the respective rights holders; or © as permitted by applicable law;
So yeah, you aren't allowed to do it.

On chrome, you could export the video, rename the end to mp3 or wav, and save it.

Wrong. Quote from express.co.uk: “Technically, it is not illegal to convert a Youtube video to MP3 - but it is illegal to download a copyrighted music video. … Using a Youtube converter to download a personal copy is against US copyright law, keeping the music industry afloat and stopping people from downloading music for free without punishment.”
So, there you go.

Then why does youtube straight up support copying sounds/videos from their site. If you didn't notice on the mobile version of youtube there actually is a button to download videos or music but you have to come with a membership. Many videos on youtube about ytmp3/ytmp4 videos have not been taken down at all and you can still view them this day. rafi_3 also said something about how it is only illegal to download a copyrighted music video.

I actually checked that one and I never saw anything bad? I never downloaded a video from there but I never saw anything bad about it.

ytmp3.com is illegal! If you really want it you need to be licensed from youtube. But if it is from your own video, that's ok

I'd like to point out that YouTube explicitly states in their TOS:

YouTube wrote:

The following restrictions apply to your use of the Service. You are not allowed to:

1. access, reproduce, download, distribute, transmit, broadcast, display, sell, license, alter, modify or otherwise use any part of the Service or any Content except: (a) as expressly authorized by the Service; or (b) with prior written permission from YouTube and, if applicable, the respective rights holders;
(…)
You're not supposed to download videos, period. In the case for YouTube Premium, you are allowed to “download” (which isn't true downloading from what I understand - it's saving a cache on your computer), but you would not be allowed to distribute such content without permission.

Now, I've downloaded videos from before. And for a Scratch project? I don't think it really matters (unless you get a DMCA takedown notice which doesn't happen that often). If you do want to go the more courteous route, buy the audio or find a free substitute that you can use royalty free.
I personally don't advise going onto those website because there's often mixed results that come with using the website - it's a hit or miss, in other words. There are methods such as recording your computer's audio direct with a few programs. If you have a MacBook, I like using Audio Hijack to record live the audio from YouTube to a file. It's a pain in the neck to wait, but it's much safer and reliable to use.

Only on their site. I repeat, only ON their site. Not outside.
The same quote from the YouTube TOS also says the following:
The following restrictions apply to your use of the Service. You are not allowed to:

access, reproduce, download, distribute, transmit, broadcast, display, sell, license, alter, modify or otherwise use any part of the Service or any Content except: (a) as specifically permitted by the Service; (b) with prior written permission from YouTube and, if applicable, the respective rights holders; or © as permitted by applicable law;
If you download a video on YouTube via that download function, you're technically being given permit by YouTube to “own” that video. The permit has a time limit (30 days), so you're not abusing the feature.

If something is technically legal, there should be a legal thing that makes it legal to do so. The last example above is legal, since again, you have been given permit, which the TOS says is legal to do. Those converters are third-party and unofficial, and there is little to no chance those converters have permit to download their videos, which is illegal.

How do you upload a sound on YouTube on Scratch?

*Justareminder,IamNOTTryingtooffendanybodyatALL*

I've literally been using ytmp3.cc for several years, And amazingly common when it came to using Scratch. I've never seen any evidence of a virus (except for that one tab that opens after you click download) affect the 3-4 computers I've used in the span of those years.

Ihatr wrote:

PFFFFFF WAIT GIVE ME A SEC–

So using a screen recorder is technically the hard way, And considering my use of the 3-4 computers, I don't think most of them have screen recorders (that's my research though)

Also, Using a screen recorder is like the kids on scratch using a separate device to record audio onto their other device for their Scratch projects (you've had to hear it once though)

can somebody please explain what my goal here was because i've lost it
