Realistic guns and blood are not okay. If you wouldn't show something to a sensitive 4 year old don't post it on scratch.
that is not true, as 4 year olds are not part of scratches demographic. maybe an 8 year thinking it is fine would be fine.
Well, yes, but actually no.
It is true that scratch's key demographic is 8-16, but the site is intended for all ages.
but there's no 1 year olds.
anyways, you still gonna make your content appropriate for all ages.

I think it's closer to 7 yrs old.. but OK
Laser gun that zaps people into thin air? Probably OK.
Hyperrealistic pistol that shoots people with a lot of gore and pain? No.
Content on scratch mist be appropriate for all. The game in question has unmoderated chat, extreme violence inflicted on unarmed characters and deceit.
Although some may like it like that, we simply can't cater to 4 year olds on a coding website. And while an among us shooting would be likely not fine, the point I'm making is that content should be 7+ in general.

yeah, I am 9 and I don't think it is a very good idea, I personally would have nightmares if i even just saw that gun in use, so I think its best to just not even shoot, try to find something diffrent

What will happen when the impostor shoots the victim with the gun?
If it's lots of blood or gore, don't
just make the victim just vanish without any context after shot with the gun
Nah, there's no blood, and the victim would just drop to the floor like the game.

The maximum allowed amount of blood is a papercut.

guns I say NOT ALLOWED!! I'm 9 and I would get nightmares even though I watch my dad play a game that involves guns, but that doesn't have much blood or gore so it isn't scary

Hi! I was about to make a MAP part based on Among Us, and the script says that the impostor shoots the victim. However, I am pretty concerned if guns are generally allowed on this website. So, does the usage of guns violate Scratch guidelines?

Please respond!
I would say, if it’s not something you’d show to a six or five year old, then you shouldn’t. But, it depends, on the blood and gore. Is there a lot?

That doesn't mean that 4 year olds are not aloud on scratch.
We shouldn't make rated M games, cuz 4 year old's could still play it

your reasoning is not that strong. why should we have to worry about users that aren't in the target demographics of scratch, because they're not.

Among Us is Pegi 7 (probably E10 in the US but I can't find the answer to that) on Google play and 9+ on Apple.

But why would the developers create Scratch Jr, a version for people under 8? Yeah, if your site is gonna be for everyone, there isn't a point in making a version for younger kids.

because it's simpler and there are going to be people under 8 on scratch no matter how hard ST tries

I feel like this is fine as long as theres no blood or gore, and don't make the gun realistic.

Just saying, I think the line should be drawn at 6-7 years old, not 4. We simple can't make sure toddlers would be perfectly fine playing Scratch. There's gotta be a line, and frankly I feel like the 4 year old in question (even though there are likely little to none at all on Scratch) should be the one taking responsibility, even though that sounds a bit silly.

Well technically that is true, since Scratch isn't directed at 4 year olds, even though it says scratch is for all ages in the guidelines.
pls don't hate me xD
