Is trending weirdly subjective?

Not only are these all generic platformers (as it's been said many times) but the same project, (which is unshared,) is taking 3 of the slots??? That same project also has the name “games” which is probably the only reason it's trending in the first place. Literally a golden example of why trending is broken.

But everyone's covered that already. It's already clear it's broken, I'm just clogging up the forum lol.
As I said before, I think part of the reason some projects are not getting on trending is because projects that are mass-reported or un-shared are not deleted of the trending page, therefor taking up space in the trending page and not allowing other project to be on it.
Yes. I agree with that strongly

I don't want to accuse anyone of anything, but a lot of people are re-sharing their projects to get on trending. Which is another reason why some people can't get on trending; projects are taking up space. But that's probably not the main reason.

Yes. Trending is also getting clogged of people getting mass reported. But yeah its not the main reason

I think it must be ST that made this problem happen, (I am not blaming or accusing them of anything, I am just pointing it out) because right now the current project that is #1 on the trending page has over 500 loves and over 450 favorites. The person who has made that has 240 followers. Meanwhile @griffpatch 's project “Apple” has over 5000 loves and favorites, and he has over 200, 000 followers. I am pretty sure this trending issue is about how many followers you have, and was made in an attempt to make non-popular Scratchers noticed. But this is completely unfair to the people who work hard to make quality projects.

I am pretty sure the ST did this on purpose to get non-popular Scratchers noticed, but I am not sure. It might just be a bug. I recently talked to @za-chary (a ST member) and he said he did not know how the trending page works. I wonder if we were able to get in contact with a ST member who knows about the trending page, we might be able to fix it. Does anyone know any ST member who knows about the trending page?

Just because it is a pain does not mean it is bad. People play games on trending and enjoy them

Yeah Appel by Griffpatch won’t get on trending. I wish there was a way to make everybody happy without blocking people from trending…

Maybe the trending algorithm is not based on the amount of loves, favourites and views in a short period of time

This project was on trending yesterday on the second page with 400 views. Today morning, it had 1200 views and reached the first page on trending. But now, today afternoon, it's off trending and is nowhere to be found…

Edit: Actually, it came back today somehow xD

Thats the same with me. I had a project taken down and after it came back up it was nowhere to be seen. I Know it sounds weird but like still

Sometimes projects appear to slip down “gaps” in between the pages. They usually reappear 12 hours later.

Yet another problem with the trending pages

I think that's because different parts of the trending page update at different times. They should make it all update at the same time.

There is probably a pretty complicated system to make this problem. I would really want to see how the trending algorithm works.

Yes, but the number of loves makes it unfair to people who get 100+ loves. #1 on trending right now, deserves to be in the “recent” category and not “trending” (no offence).

Yes if we are able to figure out the algorithm we could try and fix it then patch it so we don’t know it
