Is trending weirdly subjective?

Another problem is the excessive amount of mass reported projects on trending. From my experience, usually a quarter of the projects unaccessible. I think projects should (temporarily) disappear if they are unshared/mass reported.

I am not sure if this was already mentioned, but I think part of the reason popular projects are not appearing on trending is because if a project is mass-reported (which is another big problem which is happening often) the project does not get deleted off the trending page, but stays there, therefor taking up space and not allowing other projects to be on trending. So basically, I think the Scratch Team should delete projects after they were reported, (and put them back if nothing was wrong with them of course).

Trending is definitely broken. I remember when @griffpatch shared his lemon grab project, and it was on the 10th page of trending or something. It was nowhere near the top, even though it got a ton of views/loves/faves in a short amount of time.

Cant the ST just send messages to the false reportes when they false report?

well the ST has to look at the project that gets reported and thats how they can tell if it should be taken down or if it was false reported but as far as i know they dont do anything about the people who are responsible for all this mass reporting and they aren't very fast at looking at projects that are mass reported to put them back up.
a message from the ST for reporting something that said i was toxic, They said i shouldnt have reported it….

Yeah, that was a few… months? weeks? ago… if he shared it now, it wouldn't have been on trending… like a project he shared on his tutor account… it didn't get on trending at all…

Actually, I remember at that time, the trending page froze for a week. The projects were not moving around on the trending page. So after the trending page got un-froze, @griffpatch 's project was already down to number 10 or 11 on trending.

Actually I have talked with a ST member, and they said that the people who false report get a message from the ST that says false reporting is bad.

Actually it is not just 1 project it is now many projects and what is your problem if we are following the team. it should not impact you.

That's very demotivating . A person might spend months or maybe 2 years on a project, and might not get any views at all, while people who make 30 minute platformers occupy the first page of trending.. Thats why we all are trying to get the ST to change a few aspects of trending,

Yeah, I have no idea how Trending works. You've seen my recent game, “Topological Space,” correct? That was Top Loved and Top Remixed (it kinda jumped back and forth between the two sections) — but throughout that time, it was nowhere to be found on Trending. I could only suspect that the Trending algorithm was changed recently (I don't know that for sure). If so, did it change for better or for worse? I suppose that would be up for debate.

At this point I have the mindset of “As wonderful as Trending can be sometimes, we should just not worry about it.” There has been quite a lot of drama and disrespect that was caused by certain projects getting on Trending and certain projects not getting on Trending… at least for my sake, it's best to stay away from it.

It’s interesting because if you search for “Topological Space”, your project is 7th on the “popular” list behind a load of remixes.

If you search for “za-chary”, the topological space project doesn’t appear at all.

So maybe it’s not just trending that’s broken, it’s search too.
that's not the case for me, his project appears first

The trending page needs to be fixed because projects that deserve to be on trending are not put on trending, but projects that are low quality get on trending, with not that many loves or favorites. This isn't about one project, but many. This happened to @griffpatch, @za-chary, @RokCoder, and many other Scratchers. This problem needs to be fixed.

Wow. @griffpatch just shared a project that got hundreds of loves and favorites in less then an hour, and it is not anywhere to be seen on the trending page. This is just more proof that the trending page is broken.

I mean seriously, you need to give it at least 24 hours, but I think you'll be correct. Oh it will be on the front page though.

Yeah, I know. But that's exactly what I meant. I am almost 100% sure it won't appear on trending (or at least near the top). I believe that ST made this intentionally to make other non-famous Scratchers to get on trending and be noticed. And this just ruins the entire point of the trending page.

Yeah Appel by Griffpatch won’t get on trending. I wish there was a way to make everybody happy without blocking people from trending…
