Is trending weirdly subjective?

tbh i dont really care if the trending page is inconsistent with which projects appear on it i just think it would be nice to go to the trending page and click on a project and actually be able to view it without the project being mass reported for no reason and getting taken down

Yes, right now you can get top-loved with around 800–1200 loves (I got 900).
But trending, now requires less than 100 loves, which is totally unfair.

yeah its really annoying for example my project i shared 10hrs ago has 80 loves 300 views and its nowhere on trending but there are tons of other projects with less views&loves that are on trending and are 2-3 days old

i had a previous account where i was kind of well known so i dont really care about getting myself views anymore but its annoying to think its happening to other users

also something ive noticed is if you scroll down some of the projects appear twice on the same page of trending

also it seems like trending and top loved have switched roles since 2019 because back then top loved would have projects with 100-300ish loves and trending would have projects with thousands of loves but now the top loved projects have thousands of loves but the trending projects often barely have 100

I agree you should have a higher limit to get on trending. and trending is just full of memes And I think thats why projects that are actually worked hard on do not appear on the page. It is because trending is just a clogged up tap of dirty water and as soon as they fix it it will start throwing clean water

That's mostly because your project got more vies/loves that was required for trending, so the algorithm would've assumed that you reshared, when you haven't and it's legitimate.

There is definitely a delay before a project is eligible for trending, and I think it’s 24 hours. Also trending only seems to update about twice a day. With stats like that I would expect to see your project on trending very soon.

When I searched up my project Ultimate Text Displayer, It said nothing found. When I searched up my username it wasn't there. Yet when I went into my profile it was there. Really weird.

The problem is that projects are being unfairly put on trending, and the algorithms scratch uses are flawed

Trending is very broken. Candy cane clicker got 2,700 views in one day, and is second on trending. Geometry dash is third on trending, and got 26,000 views in one day. This isn't about how many views, or how quickly the project got those views. I'd love to see the real algorithm…

but there is still even more exploits

No, now you cannot exploit it by resharing. The only problem is that originally “trending” projects will not get on trending without the scratch team making changes to that particular algorithm.

Okay, Candy cane clicker's view/love ratio is 6%, while geometry dash's ratio is 5%. Could that be it? Fourth on trending is… missing stars chapter 7. It got … only 900 views in one day! And it's view/love ratio is… almost 10%! If this is about the view/love ratio, it should be #1 on trending! What is going on?!

My guess is trending randomly chooses stuff by how much favs or loves it has, it's rigged

For some reason when a project is mass reported it stays on trending. What's the point?
Trending needs to update faster. Though some scratchers invented the idea that they could tell people that their projects were mass reported through the thumbnail, which has partially fixed the problem.

I wonder how that happens, because I have also seen some people suddenly getting popular like @TimMcCool and others too, their projects stopped hitting trending. Is this some sort of caluclation in scratch that it's programmed if the amount of followers is huge then it stops? or is it just, I really dont know…. Or a bug maybe? Is this happening to you @RokCoder?

I agree. I usually click on it and the it says this page does not exist It is a big waste of time
