WAV sound won't open

I couldn't find any topics that stated this bug exactly, but please know that I DID conduct a search.

A WAV sound doesn't seem to want to open. When I double click it, the popup closes but nothing happens.

what is the bit rate and how large is the file?
many people have had trouble with larger files

Not sure and yeah, it's pretty huge. 2.77 MB. But no, I did NOT pass the 10 MB limit, because there is almost NOTHING else in the project, just a couple costumes.

I just tried compressing it (all the way down to 888 KB), and it doesn't make any difference in how it sounds, and Scratch imported it successfully.

it wont open in scratch 1.4. because it don't work right now.
