no support, trending means popular recently, this will just show projects from however long ago, maybe this would be better as a popular algorithm but the current popular algorithm is fine

Again, as I keep saying, it doesn't work. I'm basically ranting at this point but tons of the games on trending have been there for awhile now.

Gravity Dash, a game reshared 5 times- was on trending under #all and #games for 2 months

Baby Yoda clicker and it's countless remixes- trending for 2+ months

I could keep going with the literal thousands of copy + paste generic platformers that literally nobody care about (seriously some projects on trending have less than athousand views)

MelzAwesomeDude makes a point. The current trending system rewards remixing/copying, resharing, and generic, low-effort stuff. If we want Explore to be a more productive, fun place, we need to change it.

Lol, good one, although that does bring up yet another point- tags in the titles of projects give them higher priorities than others (a game with #Games in the title is more likely to be trending than one without the tag)

I agree, but maybe it should show only 10-20 projects randomized into randomized positions(between 1-30) this way the trending page also has ‘trending’ but also has variety

I feel like we can get rid of clout hungry projects by just fixing resharing, I think here is what happens
1.clout hungry guy makes a generic platformer
2. it gets clout
3. he rehares it
4. it gets more clout
5. he does that again
so by fixing resharing, that can't happen

The trending page has more or less been the same after the reshare glitch was discovered, it was just adding insult to injury.

But they're usually pulled straight from the internet.

We need to rename the Trending page to “Random Projects Over 50 Loves” then since most of these projects will actually be trending projects.
If what your suggesting is implemented, we would basically be back to how Explore used to be, where 90% of the projects are by famous Scratchers everyone has heard of. Though what we have now is a lot of platformers, they do extremely well and do get a lot of attention regardless of the harsh words about unoriginality and lack of creativity that some express. What is on Trending is what is trending. Easy as that.
