I definitely agree with this! If you import a multi-frame PNG to the costume editor, it should split it into separate costumes like it does with a multi-frame gif image. At the moment it only imports the current costume.

Edit:
JPEG, PNG, and GIF are all fine and nice formats, APNG as well, WebP is awful.

Support I guess. APNG should be a supported file type because it has better detail and some images simply aren't gifs as scratch would like. Splitting into frames is a good idea too, like scratch does with gifs.

Support, I use PNGs more frequent then GIFs. I think most people use GIFs over PNGs, but this would be nice for the people that don't.

That is block spam, because it is unrelated to the topic. Support, PNG’s are better quality.

Also, APNG support in the editor is weird, and it should also be supported for pfps/studio thumbnails.

Wow. I came here looking for a solution for WebPs'. Apparently, Scratch doesn't support them, and when I renamed the file, the background of the preview for the moving image that I had turned black and still. I wasn't able import it into Scratch.

Discuss Scratch
