Love and fav detectors don't detect you click outside the stage, they detect when your mouse is right on the edge, then wait a couple seconds.
I don't think this would be effective against them.

making them impossible to create = not effective?
this suggestion isnt about detecting clicking outside of the stage

so this topic is about not sensing anything mouse related when the mouse is outside the screen?

Absolutely no support. I CANNOT IMAGINE how much projects this would break; and sure, Getting Over It WILL be broken. This is just like what happened with Scratch 3.0. Mass outcry. #BringItBack. Also, love and fav detectors are not banned, nor are they unpopular in the community. Let me repeat that statement: Many projects would break; Getting Over It WILL be broken. There would be so much mass outcry that people would leave, just like with #BringBackDiscuss and Scratch 3.0.

you realize that's not how love and fav detectors work right? https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/305803168/editor/ this is a simple of example of how these detectors work

So you basically no support because 1 project will be broken, there might be some rebellion, and because you think people will leave. You probably didn't even take the time to realize what the drawbacks of the mouse pointer detecting your mouse outside the project are.

None of them? It would just stop love/favorite/report detectors. Also, that one specific project doesn't need you to move the mouse out of the stage.

It's really not that big of a deal…

1: yeah they are (i cant find where but i know that Paddle2See said that they weren't allowed or maybe i hallucinated it or something)
2: yeah they are, why do you think theres so many suggestions requesting to ban them?

lovecodeabc wrote:

You realize that there's not a whole lot of projects that absolutely require a love/favorite detector, right? If there is projects that are like that, they aren't allowed, anyways. Getting Over It won't break just because of a simple thing that wasn't even intended to be like this in the first place.

Oh no, fame-hungry people won't be able to make you love and favorite a project to unlock something in a game! Scratch will absolutely be broken.

It won't even be broken. It just would be slightly harder to control (which is literally the point of that game)

blocking remixes
There is no block called:
crash Scratch :: control cap
so how could they crash it?
To block remixes, it could be either way. Either crash Scratch or use the
stop [all v]
block if it is detected to be a remix. However, as I stated before, there is no easy way to crash Scratch, and if it stops if it's a remix with the stop all then the owner of the remix can simply delete the scripts.
Love and fave detectors just detect when you hover over the heart or star.

Ok calm down everyone… I have a solution to balance this feature, maybe…

What would not be affected:
((mouse x)[and](mouse y)::#FFFFFF)

go to [mouse-pointer v]

point towards [mouse-pointer v]
These blocks already cannot detect mouse positions outside the player, and it's already not the most accurate way to do a love/fav detector. Many projects use these as a way to detect the mouse position so Getting Over It would not break!

What would be affected:
<touching [mouse-pointer v] ?>
Because these blocks do have the potential do detect mouse action outside of the player. Maybe either pause it during that time or just make it report false if the mouse is outside the player?

No support due the above, but love and favorite detectors are rejected and not supposed to be able to work so I`m changing to semi-support.

probably at least a thousand projects will be broken because this says to also not detect anything from sprites outside the screen

lovecodeabc wrote:

neither of those statements are true, you can use love and favorite detectors to thank the player, but using it to bribe players to love and favorite for ingame rewards has been confirmed by ST to be against 3.5.5 of the terms of use also they are just unpopular among the community, nothing else to say here

It`s not only one project. It`s multiple. She just had one on her mind, so she used that project as a reference.
