Studio Activity Changelog

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a dupe, so let me know if it is.

I was in a studio earlier and it was being raided. Me and some other managers were frequently refreshing the Activity tab to see who was making changes, but the problem was, others kept trying to fix it. Blame was going left and right, since we couldn't distinguish who was trying to fix the title from who was raiding the studio.

Basically, I'm thinking there should be a changelog of edits made to a studio, to reduce raiding, especially if the studio is popular.

How would we see this? Basically, I was thinking it could be the standard message (“User made edits to title or description of this studio”), and then there would be a link that said “See Changes”. There could be a summary of what they did in a little pop-up box (like when the bad word detector detects something.) If they changed the title, it would say, “- Changed title from (original title) to (changed title).” If they changed the thumbnail, it would just say, “ - Changed thumbnail.” If they changed the description, it would say, “ - Changed description from (original) to (changed).”, or it would just say what they added (since descriptions can be long), like this: “ - Added (what they changed) to description”.

(Yellowsheep43) Alternatively, it could say the standard message and there would be a link to click, but instead of having it in a pop-up window, it could be on another page showing a side-by-side of the original description and the new description.

What if multiple users changed the description? During a raid, you could see what people changed. If multiple people changed the description, you could ask them not to change it back, or they would be removed as a manager.

(by gosoccerboy5) It might be troublesome for Scratch to store every single desc ever in every single studio.
Interesting…I don't think it would be a problem for the some studios since there's a lot of inactive ones, so it would probably be something like a temporary thing. Kinda like how on some sites, they generate something that will be there for 6 hours or something, then it's automatically deleted forever.

I(Futurebot5) The studio activity log would only log 24 hours at a time; it would be erased at the same time that the “There was new activity in (studio name) today” message appears.

This is mainly for raids, but it could also be used to see if something important was added to the description.

Anyways, those were all the problems I could think of. If you have any other questions, I'll answer them to the best of my ability. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if this is a duplicate, so if it is, please send the link.

Mild Support.

I see your point and I totally agree with it. But it might be complicated to show what they changed in the description. So what I might suggest is this:

When the studio description is updated, the changelog says "{User} made edits to the description. Click here to see what they changed."
When here is clicked, the user is brought to a page showing a side-by-side of the original description and the new description.

Thanks! I'll add that.

I think this would be useful to see what people do because a bit before a studio got raided, I accidentally edited the description. Then, they blamed it on me because I edited before. This would've been great in that situation, so support.

Support because it can identify who ruined things. It might be troublesome for Scratch to store every single desc ever in every single studio though?

Support! Imagine if a studio got raided, and you fixed the description. They would think you were a raider, because they didn't know what you changed it from! Also, this should only show on the first page of Studio Activity so it doesn't lag the site.

Yes; this is a good idea since I doubt anyone would be interested in reading studio activity from a day ago.

Such a good idea. I support if the above is used in the suggestion.
