Usage of Google Translate in Other Language forum

So I was looking through the Chinese forum, and I stumbled upon a topic stating something about them using Google Translate.
My question is, would using translating softwares in these scenarios allowed:
1) To help out
2) To be friendly and say hi
3) Any other purpose

Note: The following statement is based on my own opinion.

I am leaning towards against using Google Translate in the Language forums. Google Translated text can be inaccurate and might make people falsely think that a user speaks a language, but the user does not.

The only exception to my opinion above might be if a speaker of a non-English language uses that language in the English forums, to tell a user that they are posting in the wrong forum.

(Keep in mind I've basically never been in the language forums, so if I'm wrong, sorry.)
Seeing as ‘practising you language skills’ in the languages forum is banned, I'm pretty sure Google Translate is as well. As @SausageMcSauce has said, Google Translated text is pretty inaccurate, and you don't really want inaccurate language in a forum made for people who natively speak that language.

I'd report any uses of google translate in the Language forums, unless the topic was moved from one of the English forums.

I'll just shorten Google Translate to “T”
Some users just translate T's result again and again to see if it it is accurate, so T can also be accurate sometimes too!

Translated to Finnish and back:
Some users just flip the result of T over and over again to see if it’s accurate, so T can also be accurate sometimes!

While that is pretty accurate in English, there were problems with the Finnish version of it.

Google Translate:
Jotkut käyttäjät vain kääntävät T: n tuloksen uudestaan ja uudestaan nähdäksesi, onko se tarkka, joten myös T voi olla tarkka joskus!
my translation:
Jotkut käyttäjät vain kääntävät T:n tuloksen uudelleen ja uudelleen nähdäkseen onko se tarkka, joten T voi olla myös joskus tarkka!

As you can probably see, it's almost the same, only some things have swapped places, which basically means nothing, since it's Finnish.
But the word “nähdäksesi” is wrong. It basically means “to you would be able to see”. *Nähdäkseen“ is the right way of saying that word in this context, because it doesn't tell who is doing it. It basically translates to ”to see", as said in the original (phrase? idk if that's the right word).

So my point is that it is not always accurate even if you check it that way.

Google Translate tends to be more accurate in similar languages (say French and English) rather than say Arabic and English. By similar I mean using the same alphabet. I don't think it is allowed. I also think it isn't allowed the other way say a Mandarin speaker decides to use google translate to use the English forums however with this I assume a suggestion would get more attention here than on their specific language forum so I am not sure on this part

I mean, English speakers using Google Translate to access the Chinese forum, not the other way.

Why not? Yes, the translation would be wonky, but at least people can see the point of what you're saying.

You are not supposed to use Google Translate in the language forums if you don't actually know the language. If you do know another language, then you can use that specific language forum to help out.
