Help Downloading/Saving Student Work to computer with sb3 files

Hi,

I am an art teacher who completed a CS scratch animation unit. I have been trying to save/download my students' projects on my computer (tried both Mac, Windows, laptop, desktop, iPad) and have not been able to even open the sb3 files. Does anyone recommend a successful app or method for doing so?

I am hoping to save them in a folder on my desktop to then upload them into iMovie or a similar program to create a video of all of their projects on loop for our art show next week.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!

I suggest using Scratch Desktop to open the sb3 files.

Hope this helped!

Just wanted to add to this answer: sb3 files only open in Scratch 3.0. If you want to put them into a movie file, you will need to use a screen-capture program while the project is running in order to record the animation, and then insert the recordings into to a movie-editing software.

If you are using macOS (formally OSX, it has a built-in screen recorder. Just press Shift-Command-5 (all at the same time)
