It could be that too. Most of the later smilies seem to have codes like that. I still prefer :# simply because it's faster to type.

Yeah I guess but I usually think skeptical to be more like this: ಠ_ಠ . The

emoticon is usually more like “meh” in my opinion.

@theHockeyist search skeptical into google images, it's more people raising one eyebrow instead of the slanted mouth thing. I guess it doesn't really matter that much though.
