What Are Shops?

Have you ever wondered what's in the requests form? You click on it and you see a bunch of “shops”! Is that what you were expecting? Maybe or maybe not. I know it wasn't for me! A shop is a place where you can order anything from coding, art, banners, music, and more! Different shops offer different things. We offer everything. Now, the question I know you've been asking ever since you click on the “requests” link: the cost. It's all free here! In shops, you don't have to pay. In fact, there are specific rules against exchanging media for loves, favorites, follows, and etcetera. However, there are fake currencies some shops use for perks. We do not use them. We do everything for free! Just make sure to give credit, the order isn't too difficult, and the deadline is long enough for us to give you our perfect-as-pearls results. Not sure if our results are really as good as we say? We have a portfolio above, and many other shops have one too, so feel free to compare! Finally, you also join us and help make media for others! Just click on the “staff” link above!

Customer FAQs

• How do I order?
  Go to our list of forms, copy the text for the order form, paste it into the “new reply” box at the bottom of the page, and fill it out! When you're done, simply press “submit” to post your order, and one of our workers will take it soon.
  
• What if no one takes my order?
  If no one takes your order, don't worry! It should show up in the Orders Center soon, and a worker will hopefully take it eventually.
  
• What is the Orders Center?
  The Orders Center (also called the OrCe) is a collection of all of the orders that haven't been claimed. This center is maintained by the Secretary and usually updated regularly.
  
• My order is overdue. What do I do?
  If your order is overdue, we're sorry. We may have a lot of workers, but not all of us are active at once (we are humans, after all) and the people who are good at what you ordered might not be active when you order it. Also, your order might be above the skill level of most of our workers. You can bump (repost) your order if it's overdue, but please don't spam. If you want, you can look at our “partners” page for other shops we recommend that may be able to help you!
  
• What does “bump” mean?
  “Bump” stands for Bring/Bump Up My Post. When you “bump” an order by quoting and posting “bump”, it shows up on the most recent page of the shop so more workers will see it. It also gives all of the workers a notification in their messages so they will know to look at your post. If we “bump” the shop by posting “bump”, we're just bringing it to the front page of the “Requests” forum so that more potential customers see it.
  
• What if I'm not satisfied?
  If you're not satisfied with your order, you can always ask the worker who did your order to change it! If they're unable to change it to your liking, you can always order again and a new worker will complete your order.

ABOUT THE BOD

There are 6 BoD Places. Ordered from highest to lowest, they are:

• The Founder, who can do anything, owns all of the front posts except the OrCe, Backup OrCe, and Partnerships posts and is the only person who can close down the shop.
  
• The President, who is the Founder's assistant, manages an OrCe when the Secretary is out, and has the same abilities as the Founder, but cannot create official announcements without permission from the Founder, own the thread, accept/decline partnerships or close down the shop.
  
• The Secretary, who is in charge of updating the OrCe and has the ability to hire.
  
• The Partner Relations Officer (PRO), who manages partnerships.
  
• The Manager, who manages advertising us.
  
• The Assistant, who has the casting vote in case of a Vote or Election tie, notifies customers on order completion if the worker who finished it does not and posts a “Bumping Stuff” every page with a link to important posts.

WORKER FAQS

• How do I apply?
  Go to the list of forms, copy and paste the application form into a new reply, and fill it out! If you meet all of the requirements, you'll be accepted. If you don't fulfill the requirements, don't worry! You'll probably still be accepted, just as a trainee.
  
• Why wasn't I accepted?
  If you weren't accepted, it's probably because you forgot the codeword. The codeword is somewhere on the front page, you'll have to read it all and find it! Usually, if your application is missing the codeword, someone will reply to your post saying “You're missing something”, or something along those lines.
  
• What's a trainee? Why am I one? What does that mean?
  If you're a trainee, it means that you are inexperienced with shops, the forums, and/or Scratch in general. It could also mean that you have recently been inactive. We made you a trainee until you can gain experience with all three. It's just a precaution so we don't hire anyone who doesn't understand things and to make sure that all of you know how to be good members of a shop before you become full members.
  
• Can employees place orders?
  Yes, employees can place orders! Feel free to order from this shop (or any other shop; we won't be offended) whenever you'd like.
  
• How do I take orders?
  When a customer places an order, you can quote their post (using the blue “Quote” button at the bottom of their post) and say “Taken!” “Claimed!”, or something along those lines. Then, you have to complete their order and notify them once it's done. You can also look through the Orders Center to find orders that haven't been taken yet.
  
• How do I tell a customer their order is done?
  If they said that they're following this thread (in their order form), then you can simply leave a post saying that their order is done with the completed product attached. If they're not following the thread, check their order form to see where they asked to be notified. For example, if they asked to be notified on their profile, leave a comment on their profile with a link to the product.
  
• How do I upload orders?
  If they ordered a sprite, coding, or something that they requested in a project, then create it in a project. If they wanted an image, I suggest uploading the image using this method by @LegoManiac04. If you don't know how you should share it, you can ask any of us or the customer what you should do.
  
• What is an activity check (AC)?
  Activity checks are held periodically (about once a month) to check on who's active. If you don't respond to an activity check before the deadline, you'll receive a strike.
  
• How do I respond to an activity check?
  You respond to activity checks by posting something on the form. You can post literally anything! That means taking orders, ordering, chatting, or anything that you need to post. If you're active enough, you could (and should) probably ignore it and you will be marked as active when you just post what you normally post. Just if you claim an order, you still have to finish it! If you don't know what to post, you can say something like “here”, “active”, or something else that indicates a presence to the check. Some people have come up with some creative ways of responding, such as “deadn't”, “I'm not active and you don't see this post”, or “Am I active? You tell me.” You can basically say anything! However, this is never an excuse to spam.
  
• What is a Election?
  An Election is held whenever a BoD spot is empty. This could happen when a BoD member is demoted, leaves, or any other time their space is vacant.
  
• What is a Vote?
  A Vote is held whenever we need to update something in the shop, whether it be the terms, our banner, or anything else. These are very rare.
  
• What is an activity check (AC)?
  Activity checks are held periodically (about once a month) to check on who's active. If you don't respond to an activity check before the deadline, you'll receive a strike.
  
• What are Respondings?
  The term “Responding” means an AC, Vote, or Election, aka something you respond to.
  
• What are strikes?
  Strikes are given out if you do not respond to a Responding or you go against the terms. If you collect two strikes, you'll be demoted to a trainee and your strikes are reset to zero. If you are on the BoD, at two strikes, you are not demoted to a trainee but to a regular worker and your strikes are reset to zero. If you're a trainee, you'll be fired after two strikes.
  
• What is the Board of Directors (BoD)?
  The Board of Directors is the shop's leadership. It's comprised of the Founder, President, Secretary, Public Relations Officer (Officer, PR Officer, or PRO), Manager, and Assistant. These people run the shop and make sure everything goes smoothly. They each have different duties, as described above.
  
• How do I get on the Board of Directors?
  If a member of the BoD is fired, demoted, or leaves the shop, then their position will be vacant. Soon after that, the Founder or President will open applications for that position. Any member of the shop (except trainees) can apply for the position using the BoD Application Form on the front page. Once applications close, the BoD will decide on two people, and the rest of the shop can select one of the two.
  
• How do I go on leave/get excused?
  Just fill out the Absence Form. Once you do that, you will not have to or be expected to respond to respondings.

TERMS

1. Qualifications

1.1. You must have an activity level of at least 3.
1.2. You must include the capital code letters “V”, “Q”, and “Z” in your form.
1.3. Please try to hide the letters in your form. (Not required) I.e. don't just say “VQZ”. Instead say something like “Violet, Quinn, and Zoe are friends”.
1.4. If you have been on Scratch for less than a month, have less than 20 posts, have an activity rate of 5 or below, and/or not been in a shop before, you will be a trainee. Trainees cannot vote in votes or elections until they are promoted. To be promoted, have more than 20 posts, responded to at least 2 ACs, and completed at least 1 order.
1.5. To be on the BoD, you must not be a Trainee, have at least 50 posts, been in at least 2 other shops, and have an activity rate of 8 or above.

2. Basic Rules

2.1. Strictly no hate, advertising, lying, or spam, or else you will be reported.
2.2. Don't argue or start flame wars.
2.3. Be appropriate and respectful.
2.4. Don't reply to spam
2.5. Follow the Scratch Community Guidelines and Terms of Use.
2.6. Have fun!

3. Worker Guidelines

3.1. You must follow this thread and never unfollow it.
3.2. If you can, respond to multiple posts in one. I.e.

3.3. If you quote a post and part of it is unrelated to your post, replace the unrelated part with “snip” or something like that so it doesn't clog up the thread.
3.4 No posting “ninja'd”, “grr”, “oof”’ or anything of the sort, unless it is combined (like in 3.2), or is an edit of your original post.
3.5 No posting “page 12.5 no edit”, “post 50 no edit” or anything of the sort, unless it is combined (like in 3.2).
3.6. When you finish an order, you must post the result here and notifies the customer in the place they specified in their order form.
3.7. If you are invited to a studio related to the shop, you must join and not leave it until you leave the shop.

4. Punishments

4.1. Breaking these Terms or missing Respondings may lead to any of the following things: being reported, getting a strike, being fired, getting demoted from the Board of Directors, or being stopped from ordering, depending on the severity of what you did and your role in the shop.
4.2. The Founder and President can do any of the above actions for any reason. They can also do the reverse of any (other than un-reporting you) for any reason.
4.3. Every time you get two strikes, you are demoted (i.e. BoD => regular worker; regular worker => trainee; trainee => fired). When demoted to a trainee, you must re-complete the requirements to be promoted again.

Respondings

The term “Respondings” refers to votes, elections, ACs, and PACs as a whole.
To respond to an AC (Activity Check), post anything on the thread. Often, you will be able to practically ignore an AC, and you will be counted when you perform any of the usual shop business. This is NEVER an excuse to spam. If there is nothing that you need to post, posting “Deadn't”, “I'm not active and you don't see this post”, “Active”, “Alive”, “Hi”, or anything of the sort is a valid response.
If there is a vote or election tie, the Assistant has a second vote to break it. If the Assistant has not voted at all for any reason, the President is the tiebreaker.

Partner Activity Checks (PACs)

Whenever an AC is held, the Officer should hold a PAC. to eliminate dead partners. The procedure is as follows: The Officer lets all of PP's partners that have had less than 20 posts in the last 30 days know that we are having a PAC, asking 2 BoD members to post that they and the shop are active on PP's thread. If 2 BoD members are not available for any reason, then any 3 workers must respond. If the partner is no longer available, then the Officer contacts the partner's founder to ask whether they have moved and if they would like to remove the partnership.
