I actually could run Squeak 0.1
I downloaded Squeak 0.2 and replaced the already existing squeak.image file with the 0.1 file.
And voila, everything works (not for me tho,its very confusing to use)

SWF files are actually Flash player apps, which you probably know were often used to play online games like Run.
There's an program you can download called Newgrounds Player, which can run Flash apps offline. Get it here.
There is a similar thing you can get from Adobe themselves, but it hasn't been updated in a long time and can be glitchy.
Since Scratch 2 is mostly programmed in Flash, you should be able to run it in the players mentioned above.

No. That file i download DOES NOT WORK. That file CANNOT BE OPENED. That file DOES NOT install “newsgrounds” or anything. That file DOES NOT open .swf files.
My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.13.6, Chrome 83.0.4103.97, No Flash version detected

Hmm… I guess that's a coincidence. You use MacOS, right?

macos also is the name of the os used on all apple devices that were computers or laptops before 2001 when mac os x came out

Ohhhh… The MSI file that you downloaded is a Windows installer package, kinda like the DMG files that Mac uses.
I'll try and find an installer for your OS…
You can get the Flash Player Projector for Win, Mac and Linux on this Adobe website.
Here's the direct download link if you get lost. https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/32/flashplayer_32_sa.dmg

Scratch Alpha and Beta Version Megathread

HEY! I have an archive of 99% of these versions, AND a billion Scratch mods, in a .zip! And, @Col_Cat28, it includes a 2.0 editor that doesn't show just show fullscreen (fixed be me )! Here is the zip: https://github.com/retro-person/Scratch-Archive/archive/master.zip Also, how to fix when it only shows fullscreen: download this thing called FFdec (Free Flash DECompiler) here: https://github.com/jindrapetrik/jpexs-decompiler/releases Install, then launch; top > open > .swf file > open > scroll down on sidebar > scripts > Scratch > {ctrl/cmd + f} > type “edit” > click button “edit appscript” > yes/ok > go to where it says param1; > replace param1 with true (keep semicolon) > top > save as… > voila! Now, open it in a flash player! Ta-da!
