Could we get OGG Vorbis support for the audio system?

Hey there. I have been running into the problem of having to convert anything I export from LMMS into an mp3 before I can upload it to scratch as the program exports to a .ogg audio file. ogg and mp3 are both compressed audio. However a .ogg would be able to work instead of the .wav files scratch currently uses. In doing so the upload time would also speed up. I have found that most google products can't even play the .wav files downloaded from a project. (this seems to be caused by scratch using some unusual audio codec in the .wav file) The audio quality loss would also decrease if converting from mp3 to ogg instead of mp3 to wav. And if I could upload a normal .ogg file without needing to convert it that would be even better.

If for whatever reason It isn't possible to switch from .wav to .ogg for the sounds system then at least make it convert from .ogg to .wav.

Just use this: OGG converter

It also shows links to convert back to wave format.

I know. That's why you can convert OGG files to wave format before uploading it to Scratch

I recomend using media.io, it converts multiple files for you, for example, OGG to MP3, WAV to OGG or something.

Once again This does not solve my problem. As I want scratch itself to support ogg to wav at least. I can't upload .wav files because of scratch using some weird codec.

I'm pretty sure it solves the problem perfectly. Just go to media.io, then convert your .ogg into a .mp3. Then you'll be able to upload it to Scratch.

Sure, being able to upload .ogg straight into the editor might sound like a good idea, but there are plenty of workarounds and I don't think many people even use .ogg files nowadays. If it's easy for the Scratch team to add then it might be a nice feature to have.

It doesn't solve the problem. I want to be able to upload the ogg directly to get rid of the quality loss when uploading a mp3. so using another website to turn it into a mp3 doesn't solve my problem.

Half support, this would allow the Samsung Android sound effects to be processed but there's converter… Also, OGG format is free, so can be fully used in free software.

I don't know how to convert an ogg file into a wav file. Media.io is blocked for me. Same with OGG converter. What should I do?
