Is FNAF World Really THAT Bad?
What do you think?
I personally loved it, my fave fnaf game, but what do you think?
I made this topic because a lot of people hate it, and I don't get why. If you hate it, please explain!

Is FNAF World Really THAT Bad?
I think one of the reasons why people didn't like it so much was because it was an RPG.
I'm not saying RPGs are bad- I personally love RPGs and think they're the best genre of video game, but FNAF just wasn't suited for the job of becoming an RPG.
When a game series of a different genre tries to become another, they are less likely to appeal to audiences of that genre or even sometimes the fans of the original game. Some games when they took a turn and made a game in a different genre however did succeed. One example of this is Donkey Kong 64. The DKC series was originally a 2D platformer. When it shifted into 3D, it was kind of like the weird middle stage of gaming. But since it did the job well, it was met with praise.
To shift a game over like that means you can't just rush out a game- you have to know the new genre well and try to fit the characters and areas from the original genre the series was and shape it into it. Those were the problems FNAF World had. Scott Cawthon, the creator of FNAF, has been known to quickly put out each game he makes. That effected FNAF World hugely. RPGs can't be rushed out- they are like books. You need to take your time and make sure it all works. But FNAF World didn't. Since the early game was rushed, the game didn't teach you how to actually play, make sure the controls work (the run mechanic didn't work and it still doesn't), explain the classes and stats of the characters (because that's what RPGs are suppose to do) or make a good enough plot. Heck, even Fredbear, a character in the game, didn't know exactly what the name of the world you're suppose to be playing in. The random encounters were too annoying. Yea, the early Final Fantasy games and Pokemon did it well, mostly because you don't immideately get into a random encounter 2 FEET AFTER YOU MOVE. Yes, FNAF World was fixed a bit later on, but it still wasn't enough. Some of the previous problems weren't fixed. That's the problem with FNAF World, it failed at being what it was suppose to be: an RPG. Could the game have been better? Yes, if Scott took more time on it. There's a reason why RPG games take so long to make.
But if you like it, good. It's just my silly personal opinion. But that's mostly why people hated the game so much.

“It is a marvel to exist outside the passage of fate. The lives created by Zanza and Meyneth inevitably attempt to escape the passage of fate. This signifies the beginning of their destruction. Meyneth accepted this, and entrusted the future of this world to you. Many times, your visions have allowed you to change the passage of fate. You saved the lives of those destined to die. Nothing that exists is perfect. It is a sad truth, but you can learn from it and begin the journey on a new path. Not Zanza's path, but one that you forged yourselves. So decide, Shulk. Will you walk the path layed out by Zanza? Or will you walk a new path?” - Alvis (Xenoblade Chronicles)

I get it, thanks for replying. I said it was my fave FNAF game but that was just because the other ones were just OK for me. I'm personally more into the backstory than the games itself.

Personally, I think FNaF World is great! Sure, a tutorial would’ve helped, but you can find plenty of walkthroughs online.
FNaF World was probably just a filler game so people would have something to play while Scott was working on Sister Location. My evidence for this idea is the multiple hints at characters for SL and the fact that it came out quite quickly. (Baby was mentioned, Funtime Foxy is a character you can have in your parties, and Lolbit is an NPC.)
Now, I think FNaF World was supposed to seem bad. It seems like a cruddy arcade game (even the updated version). The arcade games at Freddy’s couldn’t have been very good since they didn’t even check to make sure the pizzeria altogether (animatronics and food included) followed safety regulations. So the world inside FNaF World was probably just an arcade game at Freddy’s, or something similar to the main hub in Wreck-it Ralph. A place for the characters in every Freddy’s arcade game come to be together. If I remember correctly, in hard mode there are mini-games that you have to do in order to get to the end of the game. Those mini-games could easily be more of the arcade games at Freddy’s.
Fredbear talks about something bad happening on the “flipside”, quite possibly hinting at the “real world” in the FNaF Universe. But what happened? There are multiple possibilities: The disappearances of multiple kids at Freddy's, The Bite (83 or 87), The Funtime Animatronics being made to harm kids, The Fazbear Fright Fire. That list doesn’t even include the countless guard/employee fatalities (including any spring-lock mishaps).
Anyways, that’s all I have so far. (Sorry if it was really long!)

I don't know how to feel about FNAF World.
On one hand, it looks like a decent RPG.
On the other hand, it's FNAF.

I don't know how to feel about FNAF World.oh wow, piece of media is a part of a franchise I, in the past, have disapproved, and therefore automatically makes it bad by association rather than basing it off its own merits

tbf fnaf world was made in what's arguably the dark era of the series where some of the worst games were being released. That being said, it's been years since I've played it but I remember it being decentI don't know how to feel about FNAF World.oh wow, piece of media is a part of a franchise I, in the past, have disapproved, and therefore automatically makes it bad by association rather than basing it off its own merits

As for FNAF World, I know one person who played it but I never got to hear their opinion on it nor did I see more than small chunks of the game. I also can't really give much of an opinion on FNAF since the only game I've played is FNAF VR

It was probably badly received in part because it came out less than a year after Toby Fox's Undertale, one of the best RPGs ever in my opinion, so the bar was set very high.
