Updates to Following and Followers
Scratchifier is doing – putting the comment number at the end of every post on their profile. That seems like a lot of work. Why is it important to know what the comment number is? Sadly, doesn't look like this'll be changed anytime soon, so I think we should do something along the lines of what
Here you go. You have 92. You can see that if you go to the I really don't support. I have… I think… 82 followers and I want to see my hard earned followers!View All of your Followers.
Everybody can still see how many followers they have - it's just been moved off the profile to make it less prominent.

Everyone, please stop this. If the Scratch Team decided on this arrangement, there isn't a point in arguing. I know a lot of scratchers that had a bunch of followers don't like this update because… But other like this addition. I've seen multiple scratchers only talk to people because the number they have on their “followers” section. Say, if a scratcher has no followers, but has amazing coding skills, some scratchers that only focus on the number will miss out on the wonderful projects. It is just a number. It will feel better, knowing that people appreciate you by being yourself and not by the gazillion followers you have. This doesn't require disagreements or anything else. You don't need to post how many followers you have on the comments, what will that accomplish? From my point of view, this is a good addition. A lot of you have posted things like, “ It doesn't matter the number of followers.” and “There is no such thing as being famous.” and “ Don't follow for follow”, but if you don't like this new addition, I cannot see how you could believe that “Scratch isn't about the followers you have.” This doesn't need to cause a total disagreement, but a new beginning. We all have different opinions, but in my case, I support this addition.

That isn't true. Either one. Opinions are opinions.I feel like the only ones who don't support are people who want more followers…
I feel that the ones who do support want to boost their reputation by making themselves look like the good guys…

The problem is, this requires anybody who hadn't known their number when it changed to count all of their comments. ):

You might think that taking away the follow number will encourage people to make better projects. However, seeing the number of followers I have makes me PUMPED to make better projects. Making me press a button to get me pumped just gets really annoying.
I 100% agree

Thanks for answering - but I'm still confused. How does knowing the number of comments help you find something? Can you give me an example?I like to keep track of things like that, in case I need to find something.Scratchifier is doing – putting the comment number at the end of every post on their profile. That seems like a lot of work. Ok; say I had a comment on my profile that I wanted to find, I can guess how long it's gonna take to get there, and It could give me an idea of where it is if I know how recent it was. Thanks for answering - but I'm still confused. If you're annoyed, just do what Will_Wam and I did: put the number of followers in your About me or What I'm working on.

Updates to Following and Followers
i checked out the project! I am going to remix it because i feel that we should not follow for fame! i follow to make friends! Hey everyone,
You might notice your profile page looks a little bit different. Profile pages no longer display the number of Followers and Following. (You can still view this information by clicking the ‘View All’ button on the Followers / Following panel.) The number of profile comments are no longer displayed too.
Why do this? We want to make sure people see someone’s projects, studios, and connections and not focus too much on the numbers. After all, it doesn’t matter if you have 10 followers or 10,000. Scratch is a place for creating, collaborating, and supporting fellow Scratchers.
The Scratch Mentors put together an awesome remix project about “What is the meaning of followers?” http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/25999074/ Check it out and see how other Scratchers think about followers! Feel free to share your thoughts too!

Hmm.That is a good idea, but i would rather just check the button that says: view all your followers because i would not want to have to change the number of followers on the about me every time i got new followers because i would have to go back and forth, etc.Still,i really like that idea! If you're annoyed, just do what Will_Wam and I did: put the number of followers in your About me or What I'm working on.

I have to agree with you on that too! Could we please put the stats back already?
Scratch just feels like it's missing something now. The inability to see followers and profile comments is just plain irritating. I visit a large number of profiles EVERY DAY. So when I have to click 3x as many times AND I can't even see all the information/stats that I used to, it just irritates me.
This doesn't seem like an update. Couldn't you guys (The ST) be working on Cloud Lists instead? It's been two years. xP

(Normally I don't quote Opening Posts, but my grammar nazi inside is bursting out.)Hey everyone,
-snip-
The number of profile comments is no longer displayed, either.
-snip-
Honestly, why even have a follower carousel if all it does is display the last couple of followers?
I, for one, would like to be able to see my comment amount, as well as my followers/following count right off the bat without needing to click ‘view all.’
I don't support this update.
ALSO, erm, what's the point of removing the follower count so nobody can see it if anybody can click view all? It's like, adding one more step that I doubt will stop f4f or follow bragging.
Bump

Updates to Following and Followers
That's why i want the follower and comment thing back! I mean,it's not that i don't like the update,it's just that i would rather SEE how many people i am following or following me and SEE how many comments i have on my profile! I have something to say.
I've been on Scratch for a year. I've worked hard, making projects that showcase my best. At first, I didn't get any recognition. But then I got a follow. To me, that was amazing. It showed that someone liked my work. I was so happy. Then as time passed, I got more and more follows. I reached milestones I never thought I would reach. 10 followers, 25 followers, 50 followers, up to 100 followers. Then I made the decision to switch my account. I was a bit nervous, but it was worth it. Within a month or two, I got 100. Then 200, 250, and 300. Right now I have 320 followers. And when I look around on my profile. I see my follower count. I see all of the people who like my work, and it makes me happy. When I see all of the people who like my work, it inspires me to make another project for them. And another. It tells me that I'm appreciated in the community. It's an incentive for me to do my best. But now that you got rid of the follower count, I don't see my follower count that often. Now I have to go out of my way, just to see the fruits of my labor. I have to go out of my way, just to get that boost I feel when looking at my follower count. I understand that some people desire followers. I do too. But I try and gain my followers honestly. And at the end of the day, after all of my work? I can see my follower count.

i agree! I wish there could be an option because just by looking at the comments by other scratchers,i can tell some like it and some do not!Hey everyone,

I think it would be cool if you would have the option if you could or couldn't see the numbers, so if you wanted to see them you could and if you didn't want to you would not have to.
