Hello all,

I'm relatively new to the Scratch community, however, my daughter has been learning scratch as part of her school's technology curriculum for a while now. We decided it would be fun to team up and build some games together (hence the Daddy and Daughter moniker). In any case, this is our first project and we would like to share it with the group.

Lemonade Stand Tycoon is our take on the small business simulator. In it, you are starting a lemonade stand on the boardwalk by the beach. Your goal is to make as much money as you can. This isn't a repetitious clicking game- you'll have to operate your stand day-to-day by checking weather conditions, anticipating demand, managing inventory, setting pricing, modifying your lemonade recipe, purchasing advertising and even purchase upgrades. In addition to making money, there are several challenges for you to complete- can you complete them all?

This is still very much a work in progress and we are still tweaking the numbers, behaviors, and generally trying to balance the play. We fully expect some bugs and/or anomalies and will try to stay on top of it. Will post updates and revisions here and try to answer any questions as well.

Thank you! No doubt we will make another one at some point. My girl has quite an imagination so we're still adding her ideas to this one. But again, appreciate the nice comments. She's really excited to see what people think

hi i am the daughter of schwartzaz and i want to say thank you for the nice comments and we will be making more tycoon's soon.

Made a few UI updates but hopefully you didn’t encounter any of those anomalies anyway.

On another note, we’re trying to tweak the numbers/costs/etc to balance the game but still provide a reasonable challenge. Feel free to post or provide how much money you were able to make for your stand and how many ‘game’ days it took. My feeling is that certain upgrade options combined might make it too easy after a certain threshold.

Quick update to the game

Added 4 leaderboard records that can be set:
- Most money made
- Highest daily profit
- Most cups sold in a day
- Longest game in days.

You can access the leaderboard with the button/icon on the top-right screen when you start the game. Note you cannot get a leaderboard score if you play in sandbox mode.

Updated the game today–

- Added save/load functionality. You can now save your progress and then resume at a later time (with the code).

Updated today

- Added a new News Flash event. There are now 13 different news events that can pop up at any time. Each affects your business differently and most come with visuals during your business day. For the new one added…watch out for pirates.

For those that have or haven't seen any, here are just some of the things you might encounter:
- Hurricane
- Seagull attack
- Beach concert
- Icebergs (and maybe a famous ship sinking)
- Jaws
- Action movie being filmed
- Pirates
- …and others

We're going to try something new here. We've updated Lemonade Stand Tycoon today- Do you want your name featured in the game? Love or favorite our game (maybe leave a good comment) and, we might select you to have your name on a new airplane with banner that flies across the screen during the game. This is, of course, with your consent. If we get some positive feedback on this, we'll select someone new every several days. If not, no harm no foul cause it's still a cute animation :-)

Awesome, i enjoy the game a lot

Couple quick things -

- Very minor update - added some Halloween decorations for the season. May add more.
- We will be choosing (and reaching out to) the first scratch user that has so kindly loved or favorited our game today to have their username appear in the game.

A suggestion I might make is to make the sun move across the sky, which would be a nice touch to a nearly perfect game
