forum points! (inspired by ways)
so basically heres what I was thinking everytime someone helps out in the forums they get points (points don't give you anything except a spot on the leaderboard or a thingy like ^ next to your name) the point system would inspire people to help (I looked through rejected list and this wasn't on it and im sorry if its a dupe) you could check how many points you have in forums home and you could choose to display or not to display. there would be a leaderboard with points in the forums like a topic or the right side.

Semi-support, I don't think having a leaderboard would be necessary. I'm also sure this would fall under digital currency, which is rejected.

No support. Users might try to compete to get points and a leaderboard would make competing even more likely.

The average forum user tends to be smarter than the average Pavlovian experiment guinea pig, so they don't need points to incentivize being constructive, they just be constructive.

Hmm, I feel like this sounds Familiar…
Wait what's this?
Plus how would Scratch even know whether a post was Helpful or not? You don't want people farming points by Spamming and Necroposting on all the Topics.
Wait what's this?
8.7 Digital currency or Scratch achievements
Some form of digital currency which allows you to “buy” Scratch features (with real or fake money) would not really benefit the educational value of Scratch; after all, there is not really anything that you can buy. While there could be features that are only unlockable via digital currency, this does not really contribute to Scratch's purpose of being a programming language available for everyone. However, you can make digital currency in your own projects, if you like.

“They would just know” is a terrible answer to “How would they know?”
No support. I see no benefits.

What about this:
Every time a scratcher does something to help out the forums,(locate a dupe, answer questions etc.) they get 1 point (given by moderator)
Every time a scratcher does something that doesn't help (block-spam, off-topic etc.) they loose a point
The points are not on a leader board but it will say it next to their Pfp
The more points, the more respected you are
