So basically you just want to watch youtube but your school blocked youtube so you want Scratch to make a youtube like thing so you can bypass the youtube block and then end up getting Scratch blocked aswell?

That's not FMV what may be the suggestion.
What's FMV?
Full Motion Video. It's like just playing a video in a game and you trigger that movie by doing something. More or less a prerendered cutscene.

no, I mean so that it is safe for kids. Because it is blocked, if not by the school, for most kids!

Why do you want to overthrow scratch's 13-year history for videos, all because you can't watch youtube? Scratch from the ground up, was a coding website, nothing more. All the extra parts such as the paint editor were made to compliment the coding aspect, not dominate it.

In the G Suite of Education (which is what most schools use, including mine.), YouTube is allowed, but some videos are blocked.

This suggestion made me a little frustrated. YouTube got taken over by memes, and you're suggesting the same to happen to Scratch!

This won't even make Scratch what it is anymore. Where the heck is the coding!?!? You just want to watch gameplay videos or whatever in school, but your teachers are smart and blocked it! This suggestion will just break Scratch's reputation. This is not going to have any positive effect on Scratch whatsoever!

Besides, ST will not add anything that has no educational value. Brainwashing yourself and not paying attention in class (because you're too busy watching the "Safe Scratch YouTube), is not educational.

Please suggest things that make sense, and don't benefit only you!

I don't think that claim is correct.

If the school finds out scratch has a giant youtube like service they will end up blocking scratch as a whole.

(also most school districts don't know about the discuss youtube links, but since this suggestion seems that it would become a big part of scratch it would probably end up getting scratch blocked in most schools)

are you suggesting to completely make the whole scratch platform like youtube and get rid of coding or just have a platform like the forums where you can upload videos

and also, why.

I was thinking that they could copy scratch into a new website and make it youtubey, like so it can only be appropriate stuff, and that parents can set video sharing on/off
in that case,
