Customisable banners?

I would personally like to be able to change my Scratch banner's colour and/or font. What i mean by this is something like:
(the image in a larger size)
As you can see, in this photo there is a purple banner instead of the traditional blue used across the site. There is also a hyperlink “Customize” button that would send you to a screen similar to the “Edit Signature” screen. It's an idea that I've had for a while, so..? Ideas?

Maybe you should also be able to customize the background?

If they add this, then the setting would also have to affect other blue things on the website. Like the headers above forum posts, for instance.
As for the suggestion, I think it'd be cool, but it's not entirely necessary.

That's… the point? I hope this isn't rude, but it wasn't meant to be necessary. It was meant to be a fun, quirky half-joke.

I know that- I said it would be pretty cool.

unfortunately the current web design trend is to go for making everything uniform and removing user customizability of things.

see, imagine i put the colour to white and then the text to white, you wouldn't be able to read the text!

heres a screenshot from youtube a while back

you could customize anything, but as you probably now nowadays you can't really do that anymore. it's just bad UX
