Project Editor:

v317:
- menu for note block
- use cache buster for project fetching (attempted fix for the rare lost project changes issue)
- can now import animated GIF as sprites, costumes, or backdrops (w00t!)
- top bar grow/shrink tools now work on the entire contents of bitmap editor
- tweaks for embedded editor (green-flag overlay, put website link in blue box)
- fix bug importing Scratch 2.0 sprites with heading of zero
- set project title on website when importing a project from disk and remixing
- make default instrument “piano” (not electric piano)
- remove several JS entry points that are no longer used
- paint editor fixes from Shane
- filter out or disallow illegal characters in filename
- Made it harder to accidently resize something larger than the stage. (#938)
- The clone tool now copies on mouse-down and the copy is selected. (#758)
- paint editor now retains it's settings (zoom, colors, pen width) when switching modes and costumes.
- Cloud data: More robust handshake code to take care of race conditions resulting in stale data.
- Cloud data: Server information is now retrieved dynamically
- Cloud data: Polling rate for HTTP fallback increased slightly - we poll every 750 milliseconds now

Website:
- Site Curators on the homepage again!
- Updated image urls in the friend feed.
- Converted old image code to use the image_url template tag.
- The image_url template tag now makes a checksum of the image to include in the url. (#967)
- No longer purging the fastly cache when users upload avatar images.
- Avatar images now update instantly when changed. (#961 & #797)
- Avatar images are now loaded from the CDN and resized.
- Users can now toggle if a project appears in a studio via the ‘add to’ menu on a project page.
- The remix tree no longer shows unshared/deleted projects unless they have an active child remix
- Numbers on the page turners no longer count unshared/deleted projects (even the ones that are showing)
- Hovering over a project now always gives a preview box that's at least as big (it used to always blow up to the same size, regardless of how zoomed in you were)
- Tweaks to contact us page

In the coming weeks we'll be making some changes to studios (and the notifications they generate), adding back Scratch Design Studio, and, as always, fixing glitches!

I want to be curator sometime, but NOT before the carousel scrolls like it's supposed to…

It won't scroll, it only gets 5 projects.

Lucky! I still have a week! And if I was in my old, public school, I would have multiple! Why do I have to not live in a warm place?

That's on purpose! It takes time pick favorites - and showing a ton of them would put a big burden on some curators. So we're limiting it to 5. But if you want to see the rest of their favorites, just go to their profile.

I'm glad to see the cloud variables updates.
