North Korea is a fake option?!
And what is it? There are already “Prefer not to say” options, like Antarctica, north Korea, and the “prefer not to say” for gender. For age, I just put myself as 100 years old.
THEY LET YOU ENTER 100YRS OLD
More specifically, 120 years old.
WOAH
And North Korea is fake because people there cannot access US websites, to my knowledge.Oh yeah

The Scratch Team is a group of trusted adults. It's not like they're going to leak all this info to the world.
And, besides, it's just your country. They're not asking you to give them your address or something.
And if you don't want to reveal your birthday, then just set it to something like December 30th, 1943 or whatever(unless that's your actual birthday).

when i asked her, she said yes at first but she said no when we came across the more personal questions, she wouldn't let meOkay, it's fine, well technically it is suggesting to remove a feature*Sigh* You're right, but all I'm suggesting is a new feature for Scratch.Hi Scratch Team and all other Scratchers. I'd like to share a story and suggestion with you. Recently, I was making a new account. I'd gone to my mom and asked. She said yes at first until we came to a certain part of the registration. My mom and I were disappointed in the fact that we had to include the place I lived in, my birthday, and my gender. Though your birthday and your gender is not shared and you don't have to put what gender you are, my mom was still worried about my safety, which led to me to not making an account. I agreed with her, but was still very disappointed I did not get to make a new account. So Scratch Team, if you could, please add an option to not share you birthday and the place you live in while making an account. If you do make this change, please notify me. Thank you Scratch Team and Scratchers, and have a nice day.
EDIT: I didn't make this account myself. I actually got it from a coding class, so that's why I had no clue I had to put in my gender and birthday. And I was very disappointed when I discovered I had to do so.
You can just put a random country if you like, or Antarctica, when you put your country, it isn't really going to put in a lot of danger, because it just narrows it to thousands (if not millions) of people. For your birthday, it is for the statistics so that they can say how many Scratchers your age exist, and it isn't your full birthday, it's just year and month, and millions of people may have that day as there birthday. As for your gender, people knowing that won't really put you in danger, and they don't even know hat gender you sign up as, and you can just not say.
There is also a hack for Location, that will make it say location not given (idk how to do it though)
In conclusion, there is no need to worry, this info won't put you in any severe danger, but if you still feel any worry or unsureness, you can use contact us, to contact the Scratch Team and let them know about your concernWill your mom let you make a new account

There's an option to not say your gender.Yes, I know that there is a “Prefer not to say” option for anyone who wants to be neither honest or dishonest about their gender. The OP may want to ask their mom to actually read (or reread in case of a possible misunderstanding, if it was read before) Scratch's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, rather than blindly accepting them and not knowing the Scratcher is bound to it. However, speaking of gender, I even once managed to sign up for a Scratch account (it's now deleted and I don't remember the username) without selecting any gender at all by not clicking on any of the radio buttons (though the birth month/year, country, and email for password resets was required and not optional) and the registration still went through without any problems. Speaking of the OP's specific case, the mother and him/her probably got most disappointed at the birthdate part because it's more sensitive than the country or gender. The gender isn't asked until the birthdate is already specified, so since the birthdate went first, some random information may have been put in just so the mother and the OP only knew what the registration form asks for, but the actual signup submission may have been cancelled — though the form might have been filled out just for them to know what the registration form looks and feels like.
