Shouldn't they be reported if they are giving people siezures?
Yes, but it's best to prevent it before it happens.
The thing is this:

kittycat841 wrote:

It wouldn't. Scratchers would check a box saying that their project should have the epilepsy warning. If they forgot, others can report it so it has the epilepsy warning.
So sometimes, that would also be the case.

Im no good with coding, but what if there was an automatic message like the username one? i feel like people wouldn't use the button, and it would be safer to just have it be automatic. Otherwise i fully support this!

That is… literally the suggestion.

But how can the system detect if a project has stuff that can cause epilepsy?
If you didn't read the entire OP, it'd be a checkbox thing.

Maybe if the program checks if the project contains
change [Colour] effect by (25)

OR you could report it and say it may cause a seizure. Then, Scratch says they will review it

Necroposting doesn’t exist in suggestions.

I like the idea, but I don't want a warning on every 5th project, I don't have such seizures. I would support it if you could enable it in the profile settings.

Actually, it does if the post is not constructive, but this one seemed fine, to be honest.

Not sure if this has already been said, but I think a notice for the project creator before they shared the project would be nice. If it contained the ‘change colour effect by’ block, with an input of, let's say 10 or more (or maybe just the use of the block in general, I don't know) it would appear, saying
It looks like your project contains a script which may trigger epilepsy in some. Would you like to put an epilepsy warning on the project?
If ‘yes’ was selected, an automatic epilepsy warning would appear. If ‘no’ was selected, it would not, however the user would be encouraged to put a warning in the title or description of their project.
Does that sound good? I'm not sure about it, but I do think that this (the suggestion in the OP, not the paragraph I've just written) is a good suggestion and I feel that this (the paragraph I've just written) would help improve it.

don't get me wrong, it would be quite useful for for scratchers prone to seizures. but there could be times where people might forget to activate it when uploading projects with flashing lights and/or fast moving pictures.

Did you know photosensitive epileptic seizures can be triggered by various light patterns, not just flickering strobe lights, such as a single flash of bright light and even static images of repeating patterns?

Anyway, support, because that'll help the photosensitive epileptics in the long run. Myself 3 years ago said a warning in notes and credits would do the job. Okay then.

If it's constuctive and in Suggestions, it's not a necropost.

Well in your settings you maybe could, if the feature is added, check to hide the warnings. That way, those who don't need them will never see the warnings again unless they later uncheck it. Those who need such warnings can leave it unchecked.

Just put a sprite that shows up before the project like this

Awesome, but I'd prefer if it looked same as the dialogue boxes triggered by the use of ‘cloud saves’ and this:
(username)
However, it sould have that text you put, perhaps with a slightly more muted red as to bring attention yet not hurt people's eyes.
