No, OP was suggesting that when you share your project, you click a button and you say who to send it to and that person gets the project in their messages if they have sharing on.

It's okay! People mix up what I'm saying, I did word it in a very confusing way, I made some images to show my basic Idea, they're in the op, also, I used to think that putting it in the messages was good, it's not, I just want to say that… But what would be cool is if there was a new area, like Scratch.mit.edu/shared

I don’t think that’s what they were talking about, I think that in order to share it you’d have to type in a particular user of someone - it wouldn’t happen automatically, nor to all your followers.

It would also be in a different tab as they were saying, so even if it is what you were talking about they wouldn’t show up as messages and you’d know what to expect when opening that.

You can turn comments off on everything you have to stop advetising.

Here is what I think they mean:

The project is public but it gets send to their inbox first. But I think there should be a 30 minute cool down to prevent spamming. Some people could have an option to switch it on/off. Maybe @griffpatch automatically gets sets to off or maybe he can't use it until he checks all his messages or something.

It seems to me that this function can be performed now by just pasting the URL of your project on the profile of the person you are trying to show it to. It's somewhat frowned on though, as some people don't like to be bothered with advertisements. I see the same issues with a special share function so I think we will reject this idea.
