Or we could allow multiple gods to have the same general domain. I figure as long as we don't have a bunch of gods of something specific like lighthouses or songbirds, we can repeat domains a bit.

What if there were different types of light gods?

Example- The sun god is also the god of light- sunlight. Lumos is the god of starlight, and the moon god gets moonlight

Yeah, that's kind of what I was going for- there are a bunch of different gods of light, and a bunch of different gods of a certain kind of light, but they all have a different set of domains.

For example:
A god of light, lighthouses, seagulls, and clear skies
A goddess of light, torches, justice, and pain
A goddess of peace, sunlight, baby animals, and daydreams
A god of death, moonlight, bones, and candles

The gods' general domains are in italics (Light, peace, and death) and anything that has to do with light is bolded (light, lighthouses, torches, sunlight, moonlight, and candles).
As you can see, there are two gods with a general domain of light, but they also have more specific domains of light, which are lighthouses and torches. The other two gods have general domains that have nothing to do with light, peace and death, but they each have specific domains that are related to light. So all four gods have some sort of control over light, but none of them can do it in the exact same way.

Gods 1 and 2 could both control general light, but it wouldn't be as strong as their specific domains, and the major god/dess of light would have far more control over it than they would.
Gods 3 and 4 couldn't control general light, but they each have a specific domain that has to do with light.
