remove the email outage banner
hey i had a good laugh when i noticed this.
so remember when scratch was experiencing a disruption with email delivery, they added a little banner to every page? i guess once the issue went away they just added a bit of css to hide the banner. i'm fairly sure now that the issue is gone the banner isn't necessary.
pros:
the code is slightly cleaner
i've seen it display in some google search results, so by removing the div from the page it hopefully should stop appearing as the description for scratch pages on google.
cons:
it would take very slightly more effort to add it back in case of another disruption.
here's the wonderful div

and heres how it would have displayed when it was actually there

removing the div should only take like 10 seconds hopefuly coolt hanks for coming to my tedtlak

Wouldn't this fit better in bugs and glitches? Or, if you have github, just post it on the scratch-www issues.

i don't think its a bug since it was added intentionally… it's not a bug… it's a feature (sorry i had to do it)
it only affects scratchr2 so posting it in scratch-www is not an option.

Support, leaving things like this in the code is not a good idea.

Yeah I was looking through the code and I just randomly found it! I agree they should remove it, because it's not relevant anymore and it's just wasting space which might make Scratch slightly slower.

I feel like this is something that wold just be unnecessary to remove, and, like you said, may take more effort to re-add just in case. If it doesn't affect the website, then No Support because removing it is just effort for no reason. And I don't think the Google thing is enough reason.
Maybe somebody could prove me wrong, though.

And I don't think the Google thing is enough reason.well the way it's currently hidden, affects the way search engines and stuff like that reads the page. i doubt they'll have another email outage that ends at 8am EST again so adding it back is a matter of just putting the same code back in.

heres a google search that requires the exact message to show up

thats like 2 million hits of basically just scratch!!!

Still, removing it just feels like effort for no reason, nonetheless. I doubt anybody typed that into Google, apart from you testing this.I feel like this is something that wold just be unnecessary to remove, and, like you said, may take more effort to re-add just in case. This would actually take around 2-5 minutes to fix.
