Solution to Misuse of Hashtags and parts of the Explore Page
So, a while ago, I made this suggestion: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/404826/ (Please read that post before responding!)
That pretty much explains the issue, but, in this topic, I have the solution.
So, before sharing a project, you would receive a pop-up message that said:
Before answering, please read the following points:
1. I understand that a project can fit into more than one of those categories, but I don't think that anyone would be upset if their project wasn't trending on both the music section and the animation section.
2. If every project that misused a hashtag was reported, it would take well over two weeks to sort through them all.
3. The main trending page would not be affected.
4. This would only be available for new projects/ this would not change anything about older projects.
Also, if anyone could make a mock-up of the message above, please let me know (I have no clue how to do that, but I feel like it would enhance the suggestion).

Decide which of the following best suits your project by clicking an option from the drop-down menu.(those are the same options as the categories on the Explore Page)
- Animation Project
- Art Project
- Game
- Music Project
- Story
- Tutorial
- Other/ None of the Above

No support. Custom hashtags are way better and sometime you might want to tag all your projects with something random so you/r followers have easy access without navigating to your profile.

Yes, but, this suggestion is to make a separate system just for the explore page, not the search bar, if that makes sense. You could still tag it with anything, but it wouldn’t affect the explore page. No support. Also, if you want to see how this would affect things, look at the music section of the explore page. I scrolled through multiple pages of projects and couldn't find one music project, which kind of defeats the purpose of having it.

FYI:
Does adding hashtags to project title affect Explore page or search result?https://scratch.mit.edu/users/wheelsonfire/#comments-82566367I don't think so

Ok, but, having the word somewhere in the description does affect the explore page. If you look at all the projects that are in the different sections, they have the name of that section somewhere in their description. That’s why this suggestion would fix that problem. Yeah, this sounds good, as long as you would still be able to put some custom hashtags.
I've seen tons of projects in the ‘games’ section of the Explore page that aren't games. Their descriptions say ‘this is not a game’, so they appear in the Games section.
And the Music section is tons of animations, art, games and random projects crediting people for the music used, rather than actual music that Scratchers have made. This would help solve that problem.

I'm going to make a mock-up of this, just give me a half-hour.

I support! I've seen many projects with random words or tags in them and then go into a category on the explore page they don't belong in, so it takes a long time to actually find what you are looking for. This would make it much easier to find projects that are actually related. And if this was implemented, people could probably report a project for having a tag that doesn't match.

While I agree, I think that there would also be less of a reason to put fake tags, because then it wouldn't affect trending. And if this was implemented, people could probably report a project for having a tag that doesn't match.
