Today's music is hit and miss.

2014 was when stuff slowly shifted. 2018+ got bad, but occasional gems like Dance Monkey pop up.

finally, a place where people can debate about whether or not 100 gecs is amazing or if it shouldn't even be classified as music

the only music i listen to is neil cicierega, video game soundtracks, and shrek. (and a FEW meme songs)

Jacob Collier's doing some mindblowing things with his Djesse project, and I say this as someone who doesn't listen to what he makes much. Theory wise his is worlds ahead and digging deeper into just how his stuff works is fascinating. He has an hour long breakdown for his song Moon River and every few minutes there was something that genuinely intrigued me. Super cool stuff.

Seeing a few people saying they just listen to video game OSTs, and that's cool and all, there's some game music I love listening too, but as someone who felt the same way as little as a year ago, music is more than you hear on the radio or what you're exposed to. I thought I just disliked music for the longest time since my family just listened to genres I don't like. They like alt rock, I like EDM, just makes us different.

I'm not even saying you have to dig deep and find obscure artists, Porter Robinson's a huge name and he's my favorite artist (also really excited for his Nurture stuff just btw). Once you have one artist you like, you'll find another, and another. Sometimes you'll just like specific songs and that's cool too. Just don't brush off the truth and say you don't like music because of the mainstream, there's a reason you like video game OSTs and that counts as music.

I listen to all kinds of music, but a notable thing I listen to is WeaklyTune's Aggretsuko remixes. My Quest is the best one.

I listen to a lot of music. Technically Pop artists music, all kinds, I love music and I do piano. But, Imagine if:

Technically, I listen to lofi collections like aso x harris cole, chief, kudasai, technically the lofi music from ChilledCow. I also listen to Goodbye to a World by Porter Robinson. Although, my fave music is treehouse by chief, safe now by aso x harris cole, and a light of mine by kudasai. My first fav song is Ocean Eyes by Billie Eilish, Second fav is Lovely by Billie and Khalid, and third is Life Letters, a russian song by Anon.

I love Dance Monkey too! Sometimes I just randomly start humming it if I'm bored :P

I also like Longshot (by Catfish and the Bottlemen) a lot, and it's hard for me to pick which song I like better sometimes! I like them both ESPECIALLY because they are 1. catchy not cringy and 2. they are a break from all this “Bleeeeeeeep (trap beat).”
