Same with unfollowing yet here we areunfriend
Yet again, if the user you unfriend notices, they could get upset. The user could possibly start a flame war.
So? Just because it's already bad doesn't mean we should make it worse. Suggestions are already in place to help with these issues. We don't have to make a bigger mess than there is.

I suggested this once.
But it was “Rejected”
How come it isn't rejected anymore?

I dont support because people like griffpatch would get spammed with friend requestsAnd griffpatch doesn't check his messages?
There could always be an option to block all friend requests

I don't think it should be displayed publicly on ones profile who they are “friending,” as this could cause some drama.
5 minutes is a short time. I think 10 minutes would be better; to help stop this feature being abused.
One should also have to wait 30 days before sending a friend request to the same person, to avoid spam but also to make sure that people don't too often run into the problem of not being able to find a friend request.

We don't have to make a bigger mess than there is.For one, very few people ever notice someone unfollowing them, and even fewer ever get upset over it. So it's not really a “problem” and more of an inevitable thing when people of certain personalities receive negative stimuli.

(Note: if you want to read the whole post, read on! Otherwise, please read the bolded words.)
Hmmmm, this might be a good idea, but IMO, it might show kids that friending random people you don't know online is good. Yes, I know there is no private messaging, but still. Also, isn't loves+favorites+follows already like social media? I think with this, it might tell people that Scratch is not for coding, it is for social media-ing. (is that a word…) For now, no support.

im sure this was once a thing before. so there should be a reason why they removed itThe follow button used to be friend request, which is basically the same thing except the user you are requesting to has to accept, and then you will both appear on one another's profile

I'm not really sure about this one yet. You might constantly get spammed with messages from your friends. Yes, I know that you said there would be a cooldown between projects, but you could just use project after project, just sharing them constantly. If you want it to end, you'll have to carry the guilt of having to un-friend the user to end it, and if they notice, you'll deeply hurt their feelings. What about friends spamming friendly messages on your profile?
I'll think about it. I'll wait for other user input before making an official decision, but I'm lukewarm.

Eh, that is too FB-like. Besides, can you imagine being an active popular Scratcher not only getting a lot of follows but having to accept them? I think I understand why the ST changed it. However, if just the name were changed and not the actual function, that could work.im sure this was once a thing before. so there should be a reason why they removed itThe follow button used to be friend request, which is basically the same thing except the user you are requesting to has to accept, and then you will both appear on one another's profile
