How to make Cloud Variables using the Offline Editor (Scratch 2.0)
I'm not sure if this belongs here, so I'll try my luck. Anyway, I have found a way to create cloud variables in the Scratch 2.0 Offline Editor. Of course, they don't work, but still look pretty cool. So here's how to do it:
1. Make a variable called “Test Variable”, then save and close the editor

2. Next, rename the file extension from “.sb2” to “.zip”

3. After that, Open the ZIP file and extract the “project.json” file

4. Now open the file and find the string "“name”: “Test Variable”"

5. Beofre the word “Test”, add “\u2601 ” (MAKE SURE THERE IS A SPACE BETWEEN THE TWO!) then save

6. Inject the new “project.json” into the ZIP file, making sure the old one is gone

7. Finally, save the ZIP file and change the file extension back to “.sb2”. Now re-open the SB2 file

VOILA! You now have a Cloud Variable!
Thanks for reading!

Isn't this just a normal variable with the Unicode cloud emoji in its name?

Isn't this just a normal variable with the Unicode cloud emoji in its name?Yeah it is - U+2601 (represented as \u2601 in the json file) is the unicode symbol for a cloud ☁

Isn't this just a normal variable with the Unicode cloud emoji in its name? What CatsUnited said is true. Also, I mentioned in the initial post that they wouldn't work, they're just for show.
