We have a report here of projects being presented in the “Projects in Studios I am Following” row that are from studios that are NOT actually being followed

I could use some helpful and smart bug detectives to do a bit of investigative work on this. Is anybody else seeing this bug? Please report on the topic above if you are.

If you are seeing it - can you figure out if there is any relationship between you and the studio? Did you leave comments on it? Do you have a project in it? Are you a Curator or Manager?

If you have a theory - try building an experiment and seeing if you can force the problem to occur.

I tried to reproduce the bug using a variety of different things, but it seems that the row won't show up even when I am following a non-empty studio…

I find that the projects are from studios that I am following, however if a project is in more than one studio the bit that says "in [studio]" could refer to any studio that the project is in, not just the one I am following. That might be causing some confusion.

I have a screenshot of the bug if you need it. I am currently investigating the problem, and I will tell you now that I have been meaning to report this bug for a month or two already. The last update announced related to studios was July 23, and I'm almost definite I had the bug before that.

Time Log: (After reading request on forum)
~8:10 AM - Unfollowed studio “Blender”. (To clean up the row, hoping to see other projects. Didn’t work, but still found a project later on.)
~8:11 AM - Unfollowed studio “Pageturner”. (Inactive, thus unfollowed. :\)
~8:14 AM - Posted a reply on forum requesting detectives.
~8:15 AM - Went to Scratch home page to see if any projects were there.
~8:15 AM - Success! The project is ☁ Tetris Dash, in the studio “Professional Projects (Hard Work Projects)”. (http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/24863616/ and http://scratch.mit.edu/studios/232765/ )

Relations:
Project:
Following Owner
Loved and Favorited
Uses Cloud data

Studio:
Never followed studio.
Not following studio
Not following Owner
Following Manager
I have viewed the studio before the bug appeared.

All of the projects that you see in the “Projects in studios I'm following” row are actually in studios that you are following. No problems here, although a side bug is that if the project is in multiple studios that you are following, it will appear multiple times.

The real issue is that the project will say that it is in the studio it is in that was updated most recently. Therefore, if I wanted to, if I wanted to, I could change a few of the projects in your row to say that they are in the studio “Bunnies are rapidly spreading!”. I'll do that now so that you can see what I mean.

Edit: Search for the project “Solar Eclipse Simulation” by GyroscopeBill in your row. It has a light blue cover screen and was made fairly recently.

Is this on all browsers? Is it even browser related, do we know this yet?
I've experienced it.
My browser / operating system: Windows 7, Unknown Browser, Flash 14.0 (release 0)
Just trying to be helpful as I'm late for the real detective work.

Not sure if this is just my computer, but sometimes games dont load properly and the project screen is white unless I keep clicking the screen.
Please explain

Well - I'm not sure we've quite put this one to bed yet. I tried to run an experiment where I did this:

1. User A: Created a project
   
2. User A: Created a studio “Studio 1” and added the project to it
   
3. User B: Followed “Studio 1” and the project appeared in the “Projects in Studios I am Following” row with “Studio 1” as the studio (it took a bit of time for this to happen)
   
4. User C: Created a studio “Studio 2” and added the project to it
   

I expected that User B would see the studio switch from “Studio 1” to “Studio 2” in the “Projects in Studios I am Following” row - but it has not. Any thoughts on this result?

No, that was on purpose. My understanding of the bug was that the row was showing studios that had not been followed in the first place. If User B followed Studio 2, then the “Projects in Studios I am Following” row would be performing correctly and there would be no bug

I'll just interject that I haven't seen this, and I'm only following one studio.

No, that was on purpose. My understanding of the bug was that the row was showing studios that had not been followed in the first place. If User B followed Studio 2, then the “Projects in Studios I am Following” row would be performing correctly and there would be no bug

And have you tried editing the description of the studio/adding the project different ways?

I can't link you up since I unfortunately did it over on the test server - I was trying to keep from cluttering up my regular accounts

That's a good idea about trying some different ways to update the studio - like comments, description, image and so on. I'll give that a try - thanks for the suggestion!

Good information! Can you give us links to the projects since the “Shiny hexagons” project may have been renamed and I'd like to be sure of which ones we are talking about.

Shiny hexagons is Dark hexagons.

At the moment, it is in meine Spielzeugkiste on my front page.

This is correct because that is a studio I am following.

Yesterday when I posted it was in Curated! on my front page. That is not a studio I am following.

数独 Sudoku the Game 0.9 is in Uniqueness is Awesome Studio on my front page. That is not a studio I am following.

In general, most projects are listed in the correct studios. The few that are not change over time.

For example, right now

Conical Pendulum
in Physics and Math!!!

and

Flowers by great painters of the 19th c. - Quiz
in gochEducation

are incorrectly listed, from my perspective, because I am not following those studios.

On my front page, they should be listed as in meine Spielzeugkiste.
