Why do so many generic platformers get top loved?
Look at this. Calling it a game is a joke. Or original. Or non-generic. Or even good. I could reproduce on of them in 10 minutes. There are a bunch of such extremly boring and rushed projects out there, of course with the bouncy floor bug glitch. Why do they get top loved and projects where people actually put effort into not?

Why do so many generic platformers get top loved?
Apparently some people love and favorite all platformers, even if they are completely uncreative.

Oh my goodness. That's poor. Okay, now it makes also sense that the top loved platformers are made by “famous” Scratchers (> 1000 followers). They just reach many people of which there are a bunch of stupid ones.

And the worst thing, that thing that makes me the most unhappy is the fact that when you write something like
Sorry, but this is really not a good platformer. It's just a generic one with scripts backpacked from griffpatch and the level design is pretty poor. Your game doesn't even have jumppads and such games get top loved ….you'll get replies like
DONT BE MEANbut also like
Sorry, but don't you see how much effort was put into this? You're just jealous because you can't do it yourself.which is, just look at this, a complete joke. Effort, ha!

You're not allowed to name-and-shame on the forums; please take that link out of the OP in case you offend anyone with it.
I personally oppose #StGP. I think it could be upsetting for someone to have their work called ‘generic’, when they might have worked hard on it. So, it might not be the most original. So, they might have used a platformer base because they aren't entirely sure how to make a platformer themselves. So, it got famous anyway. So, lots of people like platformers. Just ignore it if you don't like it, and let people make the projects they want to make, without having their work called ‘generic’ or ‘bad’, or people saying it doesn't deserve its fame.
Also, I don't think this is a question about Scratch, rather about Scratchers or projects.
EDIT: I saw your post above mine. People who call platformers bad or generic should expect responses like that, because that's what they're doing, being mean about a project someone made, regardless of whether it's generic. The second reply is pretty mean, but the first one is to be expected and technically is not wrong, as someone could take offence from their work being called generic. It's not their fault lots of people liked it.

It's like asking a herd of cows why they like to eat grass. They just do.

The cows are the users. Eating grass is love-it-ing generic platformers. Do the math.I don't understand ….Just ignore it if you don't like it, and let people make the projects they want to make, without having their work called ‘generic’ or ‘bad’, or people saying it doesn't deserve its fame. That's how narcissism develops.

Why do so many generic platformers get top loved?
Wow, what a great project, totally original!
The top-loved and trending platformers are so uncreative that people can't tell that joke projects (like those by @GenericPlatformer) aren't meant to be taken seriously, with comments like ‘nice game’ or ‘please make more levels’. And whenever I leave a comment on a platformer that describes it as being ‘generic’, I get a reply like:

scratch is broken, and its supposed to since the majority of users are little kids that dont know about quality and how its determined, sad but planned, get used to it.

You're not wrong- and if the user is giving constructive criticism about the platformer (e.g. "Maybe you could make this platformer more original by..' ‘Perhaps try coming up with a more original theme, like..’ ‘I think some more unique mechanics would really improve this platformer! How about adding *blah blah blah*,’) it's absolutely fine. While people do need to understand that not everything they make will be perfect, there are 8-year-olds on this site who might not appreciate comments saying things like ‘this is really bad and unoriginal!’. If you don't like a project, instead of saying it's bad, tell the creator some things they can improve on, or some bugs they could fix, etc. You don't have to sugar-coat it by starting the comment with ‘This project is brilliant, but..’ . You just have to be polite and not outright say that someone's project is bad.Just ignore it if you don't like it, and let people make the projects they want to make, without having their work called ‘generic’ or ‘bad’, or people saying it doesn't deserve its fame. That's how narcissism develops.

I would say its because scratch likes to engourage platformers as peoples first project, imo all platformers should be marked NFE

Why do so many generic platformers get top loved?
Well, when you don't sugarcoat it just a tiny little bit, all that's left to say is “Awesome! You know how to use the ‘Save as a copy’ button on your other platformers!”.

Why do so many generic platformers get top loved?
I start to get the impression that people just copy their old platformers and make a few other levels for it to get famous, since they have so many projects that people more likely come across one of their games. And maybe when you see them for the first time, they may be kinda nice, but it's awful to see that people can't see how much effort was put into a game.

Not even that, I mean just those things you can make out of your existing engine in less then an hour. My basic rule is that every serious game should take at least a week to make. Otherwise it's just not good enough.I remember a ‘series’ of platformers which were all the same but recoloured. @jaguar1501 Calling a generic platformer generic definitely isn't mean, although it isn't constructive.
