Except, that won't raise enough awareness. What's the most convenient way to give attention to a studio? Invite curators. How do you invite more curators? Promote more people
Only promote people you trust.
Also there's a forum called “Show and Tell” which is the most convenient way to give attention to a studio.

Not everyone goes onto discuss scratch and show and tell. but more people go check their inbox

Ever hear of inviting via username? Just go on a popular project and invite people via username.

It's gonna be hard to invite every single username you know. Besides, you may not even know that many. Go here https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/410477609/

Better yet, copy and paste! You don't have to know the username, just invite them via copying and pasting the username.

Support. This could be useful to shop studios to make it so that the people who can add projects can't vandalize them.

Nope, you can't memorize every single username of your followers at the top of your head. Inviting is the best option

I prefer the idea stated in this post by @54329 - it was another topic merged into a customization studio roles one. It gives you much more freedom, allows you to control rules and who can do what and makes studios overall cozier. A new role just for the sake of abusing doesn't make sense - there have to be creative and useful uses as well, you know.

Can someone share their thoughts on mine? I was hoping it would provoke some kind of discussion.

It's the creator's fault for promoting people they do not trust to managers, exactly like @fdreerf and @Basic88 say I do not support this, I think adding this suggestion would result in people being less careful because they would be so used to customising how they wanted things, try something different!

I personally think that adding a new ranking for studios is a great idea.

The problem is that sometimes the manager that's causing issues isn't somebody the creator invited or promoted. For example, if the Creator invites and promotes Person A, then Person A might invite and promote Person B. Then Person B might vandalize the studio. This isn't the Creator's fault, and it's probably not Person A's fault either. Just because you trust somebody not to vandalize a studio doesn't mean that they won't do it. It becomes an even bigger problem if it's a very big studio, where there are lots of managers.

The thing is, all managers have basically unlimited power. The only thing the creator can do that a regular manager can't do is completely delete the studio or remove the creator from the studio. What if you want to promote a curator in your studio so that they can invite other curators and grow the studio without giving that person unlimited power to vandalize the studio? You can't. That's why it would be a good idea to have multiple ranks.

To whoever said The Blue Whale Challenge isn't a thing anymore, it is. One of my friends got messaged by the person who does it on Discord and she sent me a picture.

How will adding a new rank do the trick? You're only supposed to promote those you trust. There are already two roles. Two roles already exist to prevent destruction of studios, while the user can still be a part of it. If this is a problem, it will be the same way if you add another role.

Adding a third rank will basically turn “PROMOTE EVERYONE TO MANAGER” studios to “PROMOTE EVERYONE TO ADMIN” studios.

Only a small percentage of scratch users even use the forums. The best way to give attention to a studio is to invite as many people as possible. To do that, you also need to promote everyone to manager so that you can invite more curators. However, managers cannot only invite people, they can also delete people, projects, and edit the description.

Basically, creating three ranks will make it so that the owner is able to give other users the ability to invite people *without* giving them the ablility to vandalize the studio. That way the owner is able to let people who they don't know very well invite others to spread awareness/grow the studio, without also having to let people they don't know very well be given unlimited power. If you only promote people you trust, you wouldn't be able to grow the studio very much.

yeah, but that's on a separate website, not Scratch. why would people need to know about it on Scratch?

that could be more helpful than this, as it has more options, and could be used for more than one purpose.

I think curators should be able to invite people, but not demote/remove them. That way, awareness can be spread, and only people who are deemed trustworthy are promoted. that is the difference i think would help the most. I do agree that it is a problem that should be pretty high up on the list of priorities.
