What Scratch *really* needs is support for normal emoji. I'm fairly certain the reason they don't is because they don't properly support 4 byte UTF-8 characters. This is why emojis break the forums and don't work in comments.

I believe everyone has the right to know about other genders, no matter what type they are, and I also believe the Scratch Team is free to share their views on things like that, but I just hope they don't make it really obvious.

For instance, if someone makes a studio that everyone should become homophobics, then the Scratch Team can probably comment or send an alert to the owner of the studio regarding the fact that they respect LGBTQ+. However, immediately deciding to make an announcement about it that a major part of the community will see is not that good of an idea. At the very least, if the Scratch Team really wants to make announcements on mature stuff like that, then they could add parental control options that their children won't be able to see those topics.

Additionally, one of my older points still exists: if someone doesn't know what pride means, then there's close to zero chance they know what the LGBTQ+ community means. It's a group of capital letters each standing for something, with a plus sign next to it - that would be extremely confusing for users who have never heard of the term before. Even _pride_ is okay, because it's just a word, and many users would probably just leave the fact alone. But in this case, it's just strange and maybe even wrong, considering the points I made on parents' wishes.

I still think, however, that having a pride emoji isn't really a move in the right direction - I'm only giving tips to you for if this really gets implemented (which, to be really honest, I heavily doubt).

Thanks for your input! There are a lot of different points of view in this forum topic, and I'm glad you're making yours known- There are definitely a lot of problems with adding these emojis, and without posts like yours, I wouldn't know that.

The reason scratch can’t use normal emojis is because of some inappropriate ones for this website, so before you say we need to switch to normal emojis, we can’t. (Or at least apple emojis)

No, it is simply because Scratch doesn't support them. Case and point: the post is broken because I used an emoji at the end. The ST can just add inappropriate emoji to the filter.
