Amazon pulled a surprise move today after suddenly buying Twitch - before YouTube did. What does this mean? There is a possibility that Amazon wont be as strict with copyrights as Youtube is, meaning that Twitch may remain user-friendly and this could also mean that Amazon's shopping services could be helpfully integrated into Twitch (so for example, you could buy the game that you watch someone streaming). It's better than Twitch being infested with Google+ and incredibly silly censoring.

This does seem like better news, though I'm concerned that Amazon will face the same pressure from copyright holders that Google did with Youtube. However, I do have hopes that Amazon will find a better solution than Google, and that they'll let Twitch be Twitch without forcing unwanted change on them.

amazon hasn't really had many issues with copyright before though, since it's a completely different kind of website, so we don't know how it deals with this stuff.
