Please support Debian/Ubuntu for Scratch Desktop latest version
“As you probably know, Scratch version 1.4 has support for Linux. You can get it by clicking here: apt:scratch
or searching ”Scratch“ in the software store (another way is open Terminal and type ”$ sudo apt install scratch"). I want the latest version of Scratch please!
Could someone reply to my post and type at the bottom please?

Same. I have a linux computer, and really want Scratch Offline on it.
My computer is not fast enough, but you could virtualise Windows/Chromium to do it.

Here's what the Scratch Team has said on the official download page FAQ:
When will you have the Scratch app available for Linux?
The Scratch app is currently not supported on Linux. We are working with partners and the open-source community to determine if there is a way we can support Linux in the future. Stay tuned! (source)

Though I'm not a Linux user, I've tried it through VirtualBox (for the non-techies, running Linux on my Windows computer) I can see why you need a Linux offline editor.
Almost every major OS has one, so why not Linux. I'm not trying to advertise, but Linux is free therefore is more convenient for a lot of people. Support.

I'm not tring to change the subject, but Linux is very convenient for the command line.

The Scratch Team have an RPI version running. Since Raspian is similar to Debian/Ubuntu you could probably convert it to a .deb somehow.

We should have a official version of Scratch Desktop on Linux at this point, it has been 5 years since Scratch 3.0 was released at the the time of writing this reply and there still hasn't been a release of Scratch Desktop on Linux.
There are ports, but most of them are unofficial (except for the Raspberry Pi port).
Since Scratch Desktop uses Electron under the hood, which supports Linux, in theory, there should be no problem porting Scratch Desktop over to Linux.
So Scratch Team, can you please port it over?

Support, would be helpful for a lot of people. Aside for the Raspberry Pi port, you can't use the offline editor on a linux machine (with the exception of Chromebooks, but that's because Chromebooks are Debian pretending to be Android pretending to be a desktop, so it's not hard to port an android app to them). Seeing as a decent portion of people use linux machines, this would be useful.

I have used and currently am on linux. I support this because I think that it would be beneficial for someone like a kid using linux as their first operating system and having a native offline version of scratch instead of confusing themselves to death using wine or proton from steam to emulate the windows version.
