Scratch Radio - A user run radio station for Scratch!
Some may say what you said is a little harsh but I do kind of agree, this can all be worked on in good time and there would be an application process just like the Scratch Wiki, it wouldn't just be like ‘Yeah sure you can do it in 10 minutes mate’ they would make sure it would be the right people presenting. Scratch I believe like many other large sites has unlimited bandwidth so that would not be a problem. I'd appreciate if you didn't accuse me of sweeping this under the rug as I just explained the presenters would be checked to make sure that they were good people for the job. This is for everyone, it would not just be a way of getting information across it would be where people could talk about the latest Scratch projects, review them and talk and show the different things and Scratch and the world (e.g if someone plays a musical instrument or sings) ask them to record themselves playing or singing.

No. Just because someone is banned doesn't mean that the hundreds of little kids who heard probably the most toxic scum have unheard it. Plus, let's take a look at the numbers. This However they could be banned and that fixes it and ST has loads of money anyway990 form shows that Scratch made 3.1 million dollars in 2018. That is around what most estimates said in terms of Mixer's revenue. That had around 100 times more monthly actives users at its peak. If Microsoft can't pull it off, what makes you think that a non-profit based in MIT will fare any better.

it's not scratch that require that bandwidth, it's the devices that the users access scratch with. This is a cool idea, but I don't think it would be a wise use of Scratch resources; Scratch is nonprofit and the ST seems to want to keep it that way, so we couldn't broadcast ads for companies or anything like that. It would be fun, but seems mostly unnecessary right now. Live reporting could be exploited if there isn't any moderation system (and could the ST really afford to pre-review a full radio show?) as @fdreerf said. Let's focus on improving the current website for now, there are lots of problems to attend to.
On the other hand… tell an entrepreneur the idea of a kids-run radio show that incorporates creative works… and you've got business!

Of course not! Personally I think you are being a bit to aggressive in your posts. When people post foul things in the top loved and featured projects many users (lots of them being young) see it, this is sorted out with the ‘report’ button and the the user is banned, exactly like on the wiki! No. Just because someone is banned doesn't mean that the hundreds of little kids who heard probably the most toxic scum have unheard it. Hello there! I'm glad you want to help out, we have already thought of this we will be using a free and open source platform to broadcast, Scratch don't pay for extra bandwidth because they already have unlimited amount and thy can also make money off other stations from sponsorship because they are ‘helping to bring the younger generation into the radio industry’. This is a cool idea, but I don't think it would be a wise use of Scratch resources; Scratch is nonprofit and the ST seems to want to keep it that way, so we couldn't broadcast ads for companies or anything like that. Nope if the broadcasting system is connected to the Scratch Servers it will come out of the Scratch bandwidth (I have been playing around with websites for years) so has Scratch Sound.it's not scratch that require that bandwidth, it's the devices that the users access scratch with. Yes if it was a individual devices hosting it itself it would but when connected to the Scratch site and using the IceCast broadcasting platform it would use Scratch's bandwidthas i said before.Hello there! Let me just be clear that this isn't a streaming platform. This is sending out a single broadcast!! Bandwitch is not a problem and comparing it to Mixer is insane. A single broadcast. Not 10s of thousands.No. Just because someone is banned doesn't mean that the hundreds of little kids who heard probably the most toxic scum have unheard it. Plus, let's take a look at the numbers. Yesd-did you even read what they wroteHowever they could be banned and that fixes it and ST has loads of money anyway Hosting a service for users to broadcast things on requires a ton of bandwidth; it's why there's are so few streaming services and they are all backed by billion-dollar giants. Scratch is being heavily strained by the pandemic but it is still expensive.
Furthermore, there's not much of a reason to do this. Sure it might get a message across but people across the world have different time zones, so getting everyone to listen would be very difficult. Plus, they would have to do a broadcast for every language. Both of these issues can be fixed with an announcement in Scratch News. Many things can go wrong during broadcasting, so most likely this will not be a fun experience.
Now, I'm honestly confused about whether this is only for the ST or for everyone. If the former, this is entirely pointless. If the latter, it will be much more expensive and prone to exploiting. The OP keeps sweeping it under the rug by saying a report button would solve everything. It won't. Say someone drops the Tsar Bomba of f-bombs while live. Little Jimmy is now scarred for life and he presses the report button. Sure, the broadcaster is now banned, but potentially hundreds, even thousands have heard that.

But they still heard it! The report button does not undo the fact that the little innocent child who just wanted to learn how to code just heard the most offensive comment they'll probably ever hear in their life. The reason the report button works in comments is because there can be a bad word detector that doesn't allow you to post the scum from a sailor's mouth, you can't do that with voices. Whatever “foul” things you see on those projects are either not really that foul or they are but the way they said it is so implying it just goes over little Timmy's head. The ST would not have the resources to moderate both the Scratch Website and this.Of course not! Personally I think you are being a bit to aggressive in your posts. For the language question DOES SCRATCH TRANSLATE EVERYTHING ON ITS SITE? No. It would be a universal radio station. Some shows would be English, some in whatever language the broadcaster wants. Now for moderation: You either get whitelisted or your show has to be pre recorded.
