MAKING 3 RANKS IN STUDIOS

So recently, I got promoted to be a manager of a HUGE studio meant to prevent and spread awareness of the Blue Whale Challenge, which is aimed at harming and killing people through a “game.” A lot of people were promoted to managers, and as though, that caused chaos. Managers started vandalizing the studio, changing the description and thumbnail, so the studio with good intentions got terminated.

What I'm suggesting to prevent things like this from happening is to create 3 ranks in studios instead of 2. The lowest rank will be curators, who can delete/add projects. The second rank can be managers, who can delete/add projects invite people. The final rank will be administrators, who can delete/add projects, invite people, change the description, change thumbnail, change the title, promote people, and pretty much everything. That way, studios can peacefully thrive without others destroying it.

Scratch Team, I hope you take this in mind and understand

<[multiple ranks in studios] = [prevents studio vandalism]>

It's the creator's fault for inviting people they don't trust to manager level. Adding another rank won't solve negligence and incompetence.

I agree with this. No support for the reason above.

The only reason the managers promoted people was so the managers could invite people to be curators and spread awareness, not because of incompetence. With a system of 3 ranks, the 2nd rank can invite people but can't vandalize.

I think this is still a very important consideration to have when running a studio.

Is there a particular reason why you think this should be added, specifically in the structure/hierarchy you described? What specific differences would you anticipate with this new system in place?

They should've only invited a few handful of people they know they can trust. It only takes one person who can promote a few to manager, and from there it all goes downhill.

The thing is, the administrator can be the only one to do certain things and promote. The rest can't vandalize the studio. As a manager, you can already do many things, so the admin won't have to promote them.

I think this should be added because there would be less chaos in studios yet many people can join. With a hierarchy, it makes it a lot harder to vandalize a studio and people won't have to worry about it.

I definitely agree with this. Especially in big studios or studios to raise awareness about certain topics. Advertising studios as well, I've seen it happen in. I'm thinking that there should be an Owner rank as well, for the people you absolutely know you can trust, and managers can only edit the description and invite curators. You can always remove managers if they're causing trouble and redo it. It helps to copy and paste into a document and save it so you have a backup.
On my old account, there's a studio I'm a manager in that causes a lot of drama. I wanted to delete it, but I wasn't owner, and the owner left scratch years ago. Having an owner rank would solve similar issues.

as i said, they had to promote people so they can invite more. it was a studio about spreading awareness, so they didn't have a choice. multiple ranks that spread the power out will fix that

Honestly customisable studio perms would be better. You can create ranks and assign privileges and avoid this whole bureaucratic mess.

Semi support.

If I may add, there's a suggestion for customizable studio permission settings in this topic. (and also another one for custom studio ranks with customizable names and permissions that was previously merged into that topic in this post)

If that suggestion is similar to this one, feel free to continue the discussion there so we can keep individual suggestions organized and in one place.

I prefer the idea stated in this post by @54329 - it was another topic merged into a customization studio roles one. It gives you much more freedom, allows you to control rules and who can do what and makes studios overall cozier. A new role just for the sake of abusing doesn't make sense - there have to be creative and useful uses as well, you know.

You have a choice to make.
Either you can promote everyone and risk someone ruining the studio, or invite people as a curator and have little to no problems.
People still can raise awareness even if they aren't managers; it still will show up in the “Studios I curate” section.

If your studio gets vandalized, i'm sorry; but you need to keep in mind that it is a risk when you make everyone a manager.

Put to spread the message of the studio, people have to be promoted manager so they can invite others. That's the problem

Just promote people you trust. That solves the problem here.

Except, that won't raise enough awareness. What's the most convenient way to give attention to a studio? Invite curators. How do you invite more curators? Promote more people

Only promote people you trust.
Also there's a forum called “Show and Tell” which is the most convenient way to give attention to a studio.
