From what I can see, clicking a link in the preview loads the web page inside the preview itself. There is no danger of being hacked from simply viewing a post with a link in it. Loading pages in your preview should be fine as well.

In fact, you'll notice that you can't load any websites other than Scratch inside the post preview. This is a security measure by your web browser that prevents a website from accessing content from other websites. Without it, a malicious website could access any of your other online accounts that you're logged into on the same computer, which would be disastrous.

But it could be easily fixed by adding target=“_top” to all links.

As I said before, this bug(?) would be easy to fix: just add target=_top to all links in the preview. I tested that using Inspect Element and it works.
