Other Gender
I have never understood why there is an “other” gender possibility when registering for scratch. I mean really? I know there are some people that are a combination of two genders, but why can you enter your own type of gender? Also, can't they just check one of the genders and say they are that person based on personality? Does anyone know?

Other Gender
While it seems logical to let a person just choose whichever they're closest to, some people (agender etc) identify with neither of the genders.
The purpose of the gender option is purely statistical. Forcing people into one of these 2 categories would cause the data to be less accurate. “Other” is sort-of a way of opting out.

Maybe they could have lots of options like on Facebook, but I think it would be easiest if you could click other, and not have the box where you type. That's because one of my friends (and I'm sure others have done this) typed in the box “snail”. It's funny, but pretty pointless.
Well, technically spambots have no gender…

I think “other gender” is prepared for the people who doesn't wanna give his/her gender. Let's assume a person makes a Scratch account and he/she doesn't wanna give his/her gender, so he/she chooses the “other gender” section.

There are bigender people.
There are androgynous people.

Also I created an account to stop people from impersonating me so I put its gender as “Spam Stopper.”

XD It's starting to seem like more of a joke now. Also I created an account to stop people from impersonating me so I put its gender as “Spam Stopper.”
But bobbybee is probably right.
And then it doubles for what samanyolu said: There are genderqueer people.

And then triples as a joke.
