I wonder what would happen if you made a new topic and posted on the Scratch News/Announcements. what would happen?

If you go and look at the Announcements forum, you will see that there actually isn't a New Topic button.

You can't make a new topic, so nothing will happen. Only the ST can make topics there, and they make them like normal.

What do you mean? I'm not sure, but I can only imagine for ST members there's a new topic button just like the rest of the forums. How else would they make them?

They add that to the list manually, making a announcement won't add one.

Right. If they want an announcement to appear on the front page, they have to post it on Tumblr.
