Blockspam should be a reportable offense
Pretty self explanatory.
Here is how that would work:
If users came across a post that was blockspam, they would be encouraged to report it, and the user would get an alert like:
Blockspam would still be allowed in signatures.
Support or no support?
~garnet
Here is how that would work:
when green flag clicked

forever
if <i am awesome? :: sensing > then
change [awesomeness v] by <(awesomeness) * (awesomeness)>
else
say [you are mean]
end
forever

Hey @New_Forumer! What you did in this is called block spam, and that is reportable. I know that you are new to the forums, so please don't blockspam again. For more info, read this topic.
@Forum_Helper Ok! I know not to block spam again or I will get reported.*insert Teletubbies*
If users came across a post that was blockspam, they would be encouraged to report it, and the user would get an alert like:
Alert from the Scratch Team:

Please refrain from more blockspam.

Blockspam isn't allowed in signatures, because there is no such thing as blockspam in signatures.

just want to say that the ST generally encourages not publicly reporting a user in a post for blockspamming and just keeping it private.

I think this might be a little lighter approach on the warning:
The underlined part would have a link.
Alert from the Scratch Team:

I personally feel like there should be a function where if someone tried to post something that was just block spam, they would get an alert (similar to the 60 second one) telling them not to do that, but, for now, I agree that it should be reportable

I dont think so because the bot will probably accidentally alert people who are trying to help with scripts

Yes, I would suggest against telling people in the forums that they've “blockspammed”… In particular, the phrase “please listen to others when they ask you not to” makes it seem like Scratchers are supposed to be doing the Scratch Team's job — which isn't always true.
And the reason I put “blockspam” in quotes is that there's an extremely ambiguous definition of what “blockspam” is. For instance, I'm going to put some scripts at the bottom of my post. Although it appears to be irrelevant, this is related to the discussion and is merely a text-style choice, so I am not actually “blockspamming” in my post.
As a result, I fear that users would mis-report “blockspam” because they think it's “blockspam,” when it's actually not. At one point, @Paddle2See commented the following in a known “Forum Helpers” studio since people were mis-reporting what they thought was “blockspam”:
I hope this makes sense — to sum up, the suggestion is in a way already implemented, although it might be implemented differently than what you'd expect. Small uses of scripts is okay for us — but long and laggy scripts in a place where it doesn't belong might not be.

So there seems to be some confusion about what makes up “block spam” with some reporters. Our current thinking is that it is okay to use Scratchblocks in a post even if the post isn't about a specific script question - as long as the text in the blocks is on-topic. In other words, it's okay to use Scratchblocks as a text-style choice. This is a departure from how we used to do it years ago.Of course, if someone uses lots of Scratchblocks in a post, it might be considered “blockspam” (or possibly just regular spam) — especially if the browser starts moving slowly due to the Scratchblocks.

No support!
There is people that don't know blockspam is a thing! If they report it, they will have no idea what they do wrong, and never use the forums again.

If blockspam is to be reportable, maybe it should be known as ‘offtopic use of blocks in posts’.
The term will hopefully not confuse people who don’t know what blockspam is, and that would exclude blocks being used as a ‘text style choice’.

I think this is already a feature because of this quote from Za-Chary I found one time and store in my signature where you cannot see it for some reason:
And, at the very least, I would discourage others from telling people that they have “blockspammed” in the forums. If it really is spam, just use the Report button and move on.
